Hello all,
I know this has been discussed on various forums, even going back to when Full Tilt did “tokens” instead of tickets. There's no direct way to convert tickets to cash as a bankroll builder, but I do know that some have mentioned setting up private heads up matches in order to convert them.
The idea being… find another player who plays Steps, and say has a few Step 4 ($75) or Step 5 ($216) tickets accumulated in their FTP account that they too would like to turn into cash. Then setup some private heads up matches with this player, and just chop the prize pool. Of course Full Tilt is still going to make the $6 juice on the $75 heads up matches, or $16 on the $216 matches… but still a possible way to convert tickets to cash.
Has anyone ever actually done this? I've setup several private tournaments on Stars over the years, but never on Full Tilt. I'm pretty sure you have to email them (Full Tilt support that is) directly to have a private tournament created, and I'm not sure if they have any kind of restrictions in terms of buy-ins or tournament type.
Any thoughts?
Hey all,
Never did get a response on the TPE forum about this, but I posted the same message on 2+2 and got some response over there. Not sure if anyone is interested in the follow-up, but basically the folks at Full Tilt support have conflicting answers on setting up private tournaments.
I had emailed them asking about setting up private tournaments, at the $26 and $75 buy-in levels. Their reply was YES, you can set these up… but you need a minimum of 18 players being that these buy-in amounts are typical Step Ticket values. Ok, I figured it was going to be something like this in order to keep these tickets buy-ins going toward the MTT guarantees.
However…. another 2+2'er liked my idea and wanted to run with it as well, and also emailed Full Tilt support and got an entirely different reply. They got back to him saying that YES it would be OK to setup private tournaments at these buy-in levels, with as few as 6 players. So basically you could setup a 6-max sit-and-go, each player buys in using a $26 ticket, and then you just chop it up immediately upon startup.
Haven't actually run one of these yet as a test to see if it'll work, but if any TPE'ers are interested in giving it a shot with us post a reply.
