You have 100bb during the add-on period of a rebuy tourney, do you still buy the add-on?

This question came to me during one of the $3 rebuy 180man tourneys they have on stars.  I had about 22k chips, with the blinds at 125/250   25 ante, when it would come back from the break. The add-on would give me another 2000chips/4bb for $3.50.

In this situation, do you still buy the add-on?

I'm pretty much going to take the add on every time, I guess if I had like 50k plus in chips then I could pass. BTW the add on is worth 8bbs, or 5 effective bbs. Look at this from another perspective. Imagine that your buy in includes the add on and rebuy so now you have 22k in chips. Would you be willing to sell 2k in chips for $3.50? I wouldn't.

Always adding on no matter what your stack is. Chips are chips and any extra is a weapon. You should be playing a rebuy stake that you are able to make multiple rebuys if necessary and always double rebuy right away and add-on at the break.

Always adding on imo. I've heard arguements otherwise before but I really don't agree with them. More chips, more aggression, going for the win.

It's still close to a 10% stack increase for you – I'd take that. It would have to be some absurd spot for me to not bother but even then I'll be assuming I'm gonna final table it and drop the extra money anyway.

Not adding on would be a mistake. Rather add on and open the next 4 hands after break.

I always 100% add on.  Like Danny I've heard arguments towards not doing it but I don't agree with it.  You take any edge you can and getting extra chips for the same cost as everyone else with players already out of the tourney and their dead money in the prize pool is all the reason I need to always addon.

I found myself in this spot today. 300bb after Rebuy period. Still got the add on though.
