This was a hand late in the tourney that I wasn't sure how to play. I had been card dead for what seemed to be an eternity so the KQs looked pretty good. What are your thoughts?

Hmm. Pros would prob say snap call but I would go with my gut. If the blinds don't go up for 10 minutes or so you could opt for a better spot. If he has been jamming often easy call. Always prefer to be the pusher vs caller but with 20 bigs hard to lay it down. I am guessing he had ace rag and popped you?

I agree with earlier post, I prefer to be the pusher rather then the caller. You are not in a bad spot yet blind wise. If you lay it down you loose a little over 2bb. He on the other hand is getting down close to 10BB. He could have shoved from desperation with an Ace. However, your call is not a bad one. KQ suited six handed is a good starting hand and usually packs more power then in a full ring game.

Snap call. Getting almost 2 to 1 and he's shoving basically every pair and tons of Ace X hands. KQ suited flops really well against his shove range and we're crushed such a low percentage of the time unless he's an absolute rock.
Doubt I ever fold KQ suited in a six max button vs. bb situation like this. Folding is so weak here.

Bottom line here is if your not folding to this guys shove you should just be shoving pre. I think it becomes way more pos ev if your just shoving here as apposed to raise calling
Nice.
Right, because marginal Ace X hands that shove a button raise probably aren't calling off their whole stack when shoved into etc. etc.
I have been following along and doing some experimenting with a thought that the Bigdog has mentioned in a couple of his vids, using the shove to take away decisions from opponents. If you raise here you give the villain several options which cause you grief, he can shove over you causing you to have to make a decision, he could pull a stop and go on you irrespective if you lead forcing another decision spot. I like the idea in these situations of shove/fold. That way you present the opponent with fundamentally one decision, gamble for everything or wait for another spot. It is a really subtle thing to me, but it makes a huge difference, really makes a lot of people (even short stacks) pause and fold a lot more marginal spots.
as mentioned, if he's been jamming often easy call. but if he hasnt it should be a easy fold because he's seen a tight opponent raise but elects to put all of his chips on the line as well(assuming this because u mentioned that u had been card dead). im foldining picking a better shove spot and not raise/call spot
