Has anyone attended the WPT tournament boot camp?  I am just curious if it is worth it or not.  Thanks!

I haven’t attended the WPT boot camp personally, but I would guess it’s not really worth the money or time. I’m sure you could get a lot out of it, if youre a total beginner at tournaments, but there’s just so many resources available online that are going to be cheaper and more effective. It would probably be fun however, so it’s probably worth it if that’s what youre looking for.

I like the idea of getting lessons in groups. I enjoy live tournaments more than online ones, and it seems difficult to get lessons for live events. I do play online but only on Bovada. Can anyone recommend an online coach?

Hi,

Let me quick introduce myself as this is my first ever post. I’m from Belgium, so English is not my native language. I started to play poker last x-mas so I’m still very much a beginner.

I decided to start learning like a maniak and because there is so much information to be found everywhere and it’s hard to see the forrest with all the trees in front of it, I decided to follow a 3 day WPT bootcamp back in May.

I would highly recommend the bootcamp to beginners. The teachers are awesome and love to talk about poker. The things you learn there are very usefull and will give you an immediate result at the tables. The group lessons and the interactivity with the teachers makes this a very easy method to quickly learn the concepts they teach you.

I won immediately after the camp 2 +100 tournaments of 20 euros buyin and numerous final tables both online as life. This is thanks to the lessons I learned there. It’s very basic i realise that now but what they teach is fundamental to success.

At least that’s what I believe but then again what do i know 😉

I have never attended a WPT boot camp.  Thought of going to one years ago along with going to a WSOP camp, but never pulled the trigger due to PRICE  $1,999.00 ish or so.

I have attended a bunch of Inside The Minds(ITM) trainings giving by TPE Pro Lee Childs, WSOP Bracelet winner Jason Young and other stars helped with the trainings.

I’ll simply say with all the things I learned from TPE prior to this training, I never had a LIVE WSOP or huge tourney cash.  I did ok online, but nothing crazy.

I will say this right away.  I’m close friends w/ Lee and other big TPE Pros, so I may seem bias about the training, but I simply say that after I took the class AND put it to use with all my TPE training.  My game got MUCH Better.  I finally cashed in a HUGE WSOP Circuit event and started going deep in lots of LIVE tourneys.  So much so that I have played in the WSOP Main the past 3 years with my other winnings.

My class was taught by Lee Childs, Jason Young, Gavin Smith, Matt Glantz, Mike Wolf, and a few others pros stopped in for a few minutes.

I can not express how AWESOME the points and dynamics of the game that these PRO’s pointed out to us were.  So, my point is that ANY training can be good it’s what you make of it.  I hope that helps.
