Ben Lamb slow plays Kings here, and saves heaps.

Table Dynamics: Darcourt has been playing extremely aggro and creatively throughout the tournament

This way late on Day 7.  To my knowledge Lamb started the Hand with around 13.8 million and Darcourt Started with around 7.2 million.  I think the rest of the world 4 bets preflop here to induce a spew, and then loses more than 1/2 their chips.

Lamb chooses a different route, and loses the ABSOLUTE minimum.

I'm very curious as to the Pros thoughts on the hand, and how they would have played the hand in this spot with these chip stacks.

blinds were at 30-60k at this point.  Are they both too deep for Lamb to be getting into a 6 or 7 betting preflop war as Darcourt is sitting on 120 BBs effective?

Thanks in advance,

HUNSUCKER

Event #58: $10,000 Main Event

Aces vs. Kings

Ben Lamb opened to 135,000 from early position, Guillaume Darcourt
three-bet to 285,000 on his direct left, and the action folded back to
Lamb who immediately called. The flop came down {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Lamb checked to Darcourt who continued for 300,000. Lamb called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and Lamb knuckled again. Darcourt tossed out 425,000, and Lamb called.

Lamb checked a third time after the {9-Hearts}
paired the board on the river, and this time Darcourt decided to check
behind. Lamb opened up two kings, but Darcourt rolled over {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
for a pair of aces! The entire table was wide-eyed at the sight of the
two players' hands, and Darcourt and Lamb shared a laugh while the
Frenchman pulled in the pot.

Part of it might be the 3 bet to his direct left and thinking that if he 4 bets Darcourt pitches a lot of stuff like 99-JJ and AQ that might put in a 3 bet in that spot.

It's a really interesting hand. Or he could have been thinking he'd just flat to slowplay but the board that came out was something that could really help a player like Darcourt and now Lamb doesn't want to start bloating the pot OOP against a very good player who could read him for an overpair and make moves that would cause him to fold it and not know if he was making a good fold or not.

I dunno Tim.  Think about how the betting would have to go here.  At what point preflop does someone get the hint.

blinds were 30k 60k

the 3 bet was to 285.

suppose the 4bet was to 475

then the 5 bet to 950

then the 6 bet to 1.9 million

then the 7 bet to ??…etc. etc.

My point/question from before was.  Are they both too deep stacked to get it in preflop?

I know that it's the largest tour in the world, but there is NO  spot that I would pass up to get AA in pre-flop…..LAMB PLAYED THE HAND PHENOMINALLY….. darcourt missed his chance because as good as Lamb is I find it hard to beleive that he could lay down pre with as agro as darcourt was …..at the minimal darcourt should have led for about 1m on the river…he gave up way too much value on every street especially after the call on the flop…..after that call he should have narrowed Lambs range to the higher end and probobly nothing lower that a-q suited ……Lamb did well to loose the minimum but it was the poor bet sizing of darcourt that made Lamb look so great……gl luck all
