having some trouble putting up the hand history. so i'm just going to have to type it out.
was in the 1am $30 4k 6 sided on UB…only the 2nd hand in.(2000 starting chip stack)..i get the kq off in the small blind…button comes in for a raise…i just decide to call…
flop: 10 3s 5s… i check…he c bets..i flat
turn: 2s… now i lead to try and represent the flush…he calls
river: As…so i the the nut flush…so i value bet half pot…he shoves…i muck putting him on the 4 of spades for the straight flush…
now, i know it is very very unlikey he has it…BUT…i can only beat a bluff…the queen of spade, jack of spade, 10 of spade…ect…he would def. just call because of his showdown value…and sort of set, 2 pair…or even the pair of aces if he was C betting the flop, then floating the turn..that also would have tons of showdown value…
the main reason i decided to fold was because i didnt expect him (or anyone) to ever bluff off their whole tourney life on just the second hand!
after i showed my fold…he kept making fun of me…saying he had 2 pair…lolol…why would he shove 2 pair there?! when he has so much showdown value…after he said that…i knew i made the right fold…despite it being so unlikely…sometimes u just gotta trust your instincts…whether or not if it may seem like a stupid hellmuth fold or something…
thoughts?
I think I would chew my own leg off before folding here. I am not good enough to put a player on a specific card holding two hands into a tournament. I am fistpump beating him into the pot as played and winning a huge % of the time I think. I think you leveled yourself into folding here.

i think a smaller flush, he just calls..with the showdown value…so therefore i really think its only a bluff..and again..the fact it being just the 2nd hand in…its so unlikely for him to bluff off his whole tourney life..
these are the moments i wish i were playing live poker..because u can just look at someone and tell whether or not they are capable of making this kind of play…for instance…if it were some old rock sitting across from me…and he screams out, “all in” and throws his chips in the middle…what do u do then? sure mathematically, ur supposed to call…but YOU KNOW giving the information of this guy, you're just beat…
i guess the moral of this is to just trust your instincts…no matter how unlikely things may seem…afterall, its cards…anything can happen
cheers
