Dunno if any of you have similar circumstances.   I am a winner across all sites I play particularly Full Tilt and UB.  For some reason though I have a hell of a time winning anything on Stars.  I have won the odd small tourney here and there and 180 mans  and am profitable, but never get there when the money matters.  I don't know if it is an adjustment issue or what but inevitably I always lose the critical hand when it matters.  I have tried various methods including trying to make sure I don't have low stack late but doesn't seem to help.

Any of you had a similar problem on Stars and breakthrough it?

It's just strange to me because I've won on most every site I play so I figure it has to be something about me not adjusting properly.  I've basically chalked it up to the site hating me 🙂

Thoughts/Opinions?

Thx

I have won more on PS than FTP in tourneys and cash so I am opposite. However, I am starting to win a lot more on FTP and building a nice roll. AP and UB are just easier to win on in general cuz of less quality players. PS has much bigger tournies and just is tougher to bink one. GLGL!

yep, i just think its much higher variance in the stars tourneys because most of them are 1k+ runners, wheras the tilt and ub ones are usually lower

I agree with everyone else, PS is the big tourney website where FT is geared for cash-so you get softer fields.  In general for me if I am winning on PS, I am loosing on FT and vice versa. If you are up late tournies after midnight Pacific time are softer because it is morning in other countries.

I think everyone covered the general pretty well, but something you said caught my attention. You mentioned that your tourney results seem to be defined by a single hand (I lose a critical hand). Something to look at in your game may be how you approach chip accumulation later in tournaments. This is a far more critical concept in large field tourneys as these time periods tend to last longer and your spots are going to be fewer and harder to find. If you spend some time inproving that aspect of your game you may notice a change on stars.

PStars typically has more play in the later stages whereas Tilt plays a lot more shallow.

Might be worth looking at to see if you're leaking chips on a 30+ bb stack …
