im wondering what your thoughts are on winning BB's. can it be used as an indicator of how im doing, how many is a benchmark ? Im winning about 0.042 BB per hand played this year (>45000) how does that compare? should it be looked at in conjunction with anything else or even looked at all.

BB/100 is not a good indicator for tournaments. EV BB/100 is much better. Ben Hayles expands upon it in his Math Series. I don't remember which part it is in but yo should check out the whole series for tips on how to evaluate your game.
