I have the same thing happen. I will do good on PS and horrible on FT or vice versa.

Pretty standard.  I'll swing back and forth between winning and losing between the two pretty regularly.  It's usually variance.  However you should think about the structures and see if there is a leak in your game.  Tilt is shallower later so perhaps you might have some leaks playing bigger stacks with antes on stars.

Believe it or not I'm down lifetime on FTP but up quite a bit lifetime on Stars.  I think a lot of it is the structures are a lot deeper on Stars late allowing for more late game play and on FTP the structure gets rather shallow making for much more higher variance poker.  Or at least that's what I'm blaming it on 🙂

I wasnt gonna comment here because RonFez has always made fun of me for this, but I played profitably for two years without a 4 figure score on PS and crushed FTP. In the last year and a half I am -ROI on FTP and up big on stars with my two highest scores all time being on Stars in the last year.

It is definitely the structure. On FTP you are deep early and shallow late and on Stars you are shallow earlier but deeper late. You have to adjust on PS at an earlier level than on FTP. I know in a lot of the tournaments I play that start at the same time, I will be at 40-80 on FTP and 75-150 on PS. Not saying one is better, but there are differences between the sites that you must adjust to.

This is definitely the answer… a combination of variance and the structure on the two sites being different.
