When to stop double rebuying?

This is something I have always had trouble judging in a 2 or 3X rebuy tourney/sat. I know that when the blinds and antes are huge in comparison to a single stack that it is profitable to single rebuy mainly for pot odds, but I have always been confused in the middle part of the rebuy period when I bust and am forced to rebuy.

For example: A single stack is 1500 chips and the blinds are something like 300/600 or 400/800 plus antes is it a waste to double rebuy for like 6BB's?

Depending on how many people rebuy is what will determine how many times I do.  I play rebuys like regular tournaments, I want people to rebuy but I do not want to do it myself. I know some people approach it by playing very loose and ready to rebuy all the time but then your ev goes down. My best cashes have been rebuys where I only had to rebuy once or twice.  It seems in the lower limits people want to rebuy and play very loose. I always get the add-on but unless there have been many rebuys to raise the prize pool I try not to.

Well, im basically always rebuying to get to the add-on regardless of the amount of players that have rebought, but thats not to say that I splash around with trashy hands to double up. when the blinds are between 10/20 and 200/400 im always double rebuying but after that I dont know if it's proper to do so?

LOL Do you mean you never rebuy at this point or you never double rebuy?

It is a mistake to enter a rebuy with the intention of never rebuying. I always rebuy at the beginning and play pretty straight forward, taking chances when available. I tend not to late reg simply for the reasons stated earlier that with high blind levels you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. But if im already in a tourney and I bust during the rebuy im always topping up no matter what.

I agree that you have to be prepared to rebuy and I also take Benny's approach early on.   I have seen many people rebuy so much if they cash they actually loose money. I base my rebuy on my ability to min. cash a profit and it has worked out for me well.  I think too many people play rebuys like cash games and I want to exploit their weakness but not fall into the same trap. I also notice the fields are softer, at least in the micros, because new players like them while trying strategies.

I mean i never stop double rebuying untill the rebuy period is over.  If you think you are +EV in the tournament, then it is always correct to double rebuy no matter how many times you have busted.  Lets say you get stacked 4 times in the 11r.  Is the fifth double rebuy +EV? yes, because from that point on you expect to make x amount of profit if you are a winning player in that tournament, even though you are still going to be expecting to lose money for the tournament as a whole.  Double rebuying after you are in for a lot of bullets just means you expect to gain back whatever you equity in the tournament is from your loses, it is still a profitable decision even though it doesn't make you profit in the tournament.

i dont play the regular 3x turbo rebuys, but have played a lot of the satellites and the general strat there seems to be to just register at the last possible moment and then single buy your way to the addon.

Depends on entrants and structure. You would want to gamble more in a micro rebuy like the $1R during the first hour to accumulate a decent stack where first place pays a significant amount based on your buyin versus a 180 man $3R where their isn't that large of a first place to compensate going too wild in one of them where first place seems to be like $450-600 range.

When you say the last possible moment, what is the time range you mean? 10,20,30 mins before the addon? and for the sake of this example to to further describe what I mean well say that this tourney would be a PCA $33 3XR Turbo Sat.
