My first time posting a hand so bare with me. Been finding myself in this situation a lot. Am I playing it poorly or only notice these situations when i loose them?

$15.5 On ACR $6k. 40 of 300 runners left. Blinds are 1k/2k

I’m in Hj with 67,000

Bb 172,000

Button 115,000

I opened in the Hj to $4k preflop with AhAs and get called by button and bb.

Flop [15k] is 8d Jh Ks .

Bb checks flop and I lead out for 6,750 and button raises to 21k, Bb folds.

Not sure what to do here? if i call i have 45k left going to the turn with 57k in the pot and lots of scary turn cards so i elect to just get it in on the flop.

I dont have any reads on the button player. I feel like his range consists of 88, KQ, KJ, K10, K9, K8, AQ?, Q10, J8, 910. Is this range too wide here? Am I behind more than I am in front? or am I reading into it too much and it is an easy jam?

I think you played it fine. Are we ITM or on the bubble? Regardless, I’m getting it in here. What are we going to do…fold aces when so much of his range has a King? Easy shove, especially at that SPR.

If you really think he’s raising hands like KT and AQ, then sure, you can get it in here. The real question is whether he would raise those hands (he shouldn’t). More importantly, this is a question to ask yourself before you bet. If you aren’t going to treat your hand as strong enough to play for stacks, which would be reasonable, then you should seriously consider checking.

@Foucault, would be interested to know the line you’d take on different turns if the flops checks through?

Thanks, makes sense. It’s definitely tricky to play Aces well with this sort of stack as the ‘fast thinking’ mind jumps to thinking ‘we just need to get money into the pot here’, irrespective of flop. I know that isn’t the rational approach though.

Maybe it’s check call flop, check evaluate turns in this spot then.

OP, I wouldn’t say you are playing poorly here, but there’s a lesson around being really conscious of flop textures when considering your line. I’m not sure I check enough in this spot though.
