ok so in the last 4 weeks or so i've run real good (thanks sooooooo much to bigdogg and to TPE)

my bankroll is now the biggest i've had at almost 4k

my question relates to when you guys cashout money and how much?

Given that i had a decent cash of almost 2.1k last night – should i immediatley cash a certain % of this out and continue to play my roll before i won this? or should i leave it all there and slowly move up some higher games according to RonFezzs bankroll guides?

I am comfortbale playing 250 ABI's which leaves me (before last night) playing$2 to $11 MTT's and quite a few $3 and $6 18-45 man's with occasional $16 STT and occasional bigger MTT shot ($20-30)

but i'm afraid that if i go up i'll be getting out of my depth.. esp when taking bigger MTT shots as it would be something around the $80 mark

what do all you guys do when you have a bigger than usual cash?

any advice here would be appreciated

Oh and to bennymacca and cousteer and the oz guys – whats the best way you guys have found to cash out?

i have a netteller card linked to my FTP account but i dont play there anymore and i have not cashed out on stars before now.?

Cheers in advance

Im in the UK and use neteller. Have used it for years and have no touble moving cash around with this method, i have a debit card with the account so i can spend with no fees if i desire.

I always cashout after a big cash and only leave a couple of hundred dollars in my poker account max (50 buy ins) have no problem re-depositing if i go on a downswing. I have most of my bankroll in my Neteller account and
with the current poker climate being as it is i wouldn't recommend
leaving more than 10% of your roll on a poker site at one time ATM.

Thanks mate – your right about the current poker climate and not having all my funds on there

I have a neteller card which i hadnt withdrew from for over a year and dug out all my details, updated it and just now have withdrawn $3k

I'm ok leaving the rest of my cash in my account and, as you rightly said, can top up easily on a downswing etc

question though –  does that mean u play your bankroll as stars account+neteller account? coz obv if you have a downswing with a couple hundred dollars on your account you probably dont drop stakes to a roll of 100 dollars ($1 games) do you?

yes my bankroll includes all funds available to me to play poker, not just my PS or FT balance but everything combined. I usually play stakes relative to my total roll, which means im probably very over rolled ATM.

i use neteller to transfer between sites usually, and most of the time i transfer to 888 and withdraw using their bankwire there

but neteller's bankwire would be good as well i think

with regards to how much to cash out, i think it depends on your goal. i have about a 4.5k roll at the moment, but my goal is to move up to mid stakes, which i am only just starting to do, so i havent really withdrawn that much. my goal is to make 10k in profit by the end of the year, and then keep that and start cashing out any excess.

i thought about it though – hopefully by the end of the year i have reached my goal, i will start monthly cashouts and i will cashout half of winnings and leave the rest there.

Bankroll building atm… haven't had the luxury of withdrawing yet, although haven't deposited for 8 months… 5K is my immediate goal.  Chippin' away!

I've just joined neteller in anticipation of regular withdrawals!

Nice run last night by the way… I've been reeling about your last hand for most of the day!

tx cousteer – yeah i've forgotten about that hand now and hoping to run deep tomorrow

i think i might make a goal similar to benny here

a target number

then any cash over that target, withdraw a certain %

that way, once you reach that goal you can settle on the limits you play and become a regular at them

10k sounds very nice

that would mean any deep runs in you're regular MTT (assumed to be around $40 ABI) would be nice. Shipping something at those levels would make me feel like i could earn a living from this game!

I'll sleep on it thinking about a target for my year. maybe 8k or 10k with benny

anyone wanna make a bet on it for a bit of fun?

say something like total profit on stars by dec 31? or 1st to 8k by 31 dec?

Or person with the biggest single cash by a certain date?

just a thought anyway for extra incentive

I’m in the same situation as you hape ty to tpe also! Ok I keep the majority of my money in my moneybookers acc and leave just enough for about 5 sessions worth I also keep some in a seperate bank acc due to the recent events I’m real paranoid and theres just no need to keep more than what you need on the sites you play on.

So everytime I win now I just withdraw straight away. Just make sure you keep track of it.

I usually just leave a few hundred on the site and up until black friday, left my main bankroll in moneybookers. I panicked and transferred about $4k into my bank in Canada and paid around $30 in fees for the wire transfer. Then I went on a bit of a down swing on one site and had to upload funds back to moneybookers via my visa at 1.90% and I had to re-verify my credit card which took days.  Kinda wish I left $500 or so in the moneybookers now…. Now I am not a pro and don't have a huge bankroll. This is just my two cents on the subject and how I deal with it. I typically play on smaller sites but highly suggest that if you play on a smaller site that takes forever to payout, think about why they take forever to pay out. Some do not have the liquidity to pay out in 24-48 hrs like they claim and could be having financial difficulties. for those sites I suggest cashing out when u win and leave in the minimum u need to work with. if it drops and u need to deposit a bit more, it's no biggie. it only takes a minute. This way if they do disappear you wont lose a substantial amount.

With things the way they are now, I would not have more than about 50 BI's on any site. If I made a big cash I would definately cash it out. Keep your total poker BR safe! Deposit and cash out fees are small compaired to potentially loosing you entire poker BR!!! Like the money I have on UB. yell

Not saying, just saying.

i never have issue with takeing a little something something for yourself. i like to play the game for more than just watching my bankroll grow. a few hundred on a withdraw wouldnt kill it. keep up the good work yo.
