Hey,
This might seem like a fishy question so apologies, When do you know that your at the correct level to get some coaching? Its something I have been thinking about for a while but felt that i needed to learn more and get more experience and apply this myself before taking to the next level etc.
I currently grind online (micro stakes) and put in around 30 hours per week, since spending alot of time reviewing hand history / videos i am starting to see the results, whilst i do not want to be result orientated i now feel confident in my ability at this level.
Cheers
Dan
There was some good conversation about this on the most recent episode of the Midstakes Living podcast.
i think it depends on the person, their current level of poker knowledge and their bankroll.
I think the key is just making sure you have a good grip on the fundamentals via videos, forums, etc before moving on to a coach. You could also try a session or two with an inexpensive coach before moving on to someone more expensive. Danny, Marc and Ginger all offer very good rates for what you get. They would be solid places to start.

Agreed with KB. I know all the other guys KB mentioned. Listened to their podcasts or saw them on the forum at some point. Danny is my coach and the guy is awesome. Thinks out of the box and has a great personality. Although I believe all of them are good.
I started coaching with him after getting to know the mechanics of the game and he fixed the leaks. I would say some knowledge would be way better before you start.

Some input from a coach here – it doesn't really matter what your ability level is, if you're willing to work hard, ask questions and learn. Personally I've kinda always wanted to take someone from absolutely zero poker knowledge to being a winning player – I like a challenge.
It also doesn't really matter about finding a coach who suits your style of play – a good coach will teach you to understand and interpret the profitability of the plays you make, and configure your thought processes so that you can adapt, and work out for yourself what kind of style you want to play at any given time. It's not a coach's job to tell you, “you should play super aggro because that's how I play”. They should tell you, “you should play super aggro at this table because it's full of tight players, but once you get moved you should tighten up significantly”.
EDIT: I should also add, if you're looking for a coach, PM me! I'm taking on a bunch of guys for the New Year. There's a thread in the TPE coaching forum with details. Good luck with the search.

Would you say coaching is more of an investment kind of thing or a expense kinf of thing?
I other words, would you say you should pay for coaching from you bankroll and thus considered expenses or an investment where you don’t really have the bankroll to pay for it (or it will be a hit on your bankroll) but it will help you “get there” faster?
