Villain was playing 34/17 over 22 hands.

Do we double barrel putting villain on a draw himself or check back for a free card and then fold if he bets river when missed?

Im with Benny, im double barreling here as well. Also, this early in tourny and as deep as we are id make it a full 3x raise. scale it back when blinds/antes spike up. I think ur flop bet is too small as tool… like betting around 150-175.

just my opinion, dont make it right….

would like to here other thoughts on our bet sizing here….. somthn ive been working on.

I'll double barrel most turns as well.  Agree that the flop bet is a little small.

wait, maybe opinions change if you knew the turn was another 8 and villain checked it back to me. guess i deleted a bit to much of the HH.

Mostly I double barrel and even triple barrel. but here i thought it'd be tough to rep the 8 and i chose to take a free card. not that i couldnt valuebet less than trips, but second pair on the flop now is more likely to be the best hand since i opened in LP and it's unlikely i have an eight or any pair for that matter.

villain could have something like 65 for oesd, or Ax w a gutter or pair, 67, pair w gutter, fd… so there are still hands that i could beat or get them off from.

dont really think i have to bet that much bigger, 150 max, so 120 isnt that far off.

Yeah i still barrel turn repping an 8 is hard but you can also rep alot of pairs including over pairs also feels like our J or 10 is probably good if we hit most of the time.

I also make it like 160 on the flop with a semi wet board he could also easily be defending a bunch of hands that connect this flop a bunch of suited aces, 65 also some floats so yeah i still barrel.

def double barrel

this way we get hands that are currently ahead of us (all his random pairs, K highs and A highs) to fold, and at the same time dont wanna look weak

if we check the turn and dont hit our flush on the river we lose the pot (probably get caught bluffing the river blank)

if we bet the turn and DONT hit our flush on the river we can still take it down with our 3rd chamber repping over pairs etc

normally I do it, dont know why this time I chose to slow down, prolly was player dependant. but im back to double barreling and reassessing the river 😉
