Any stats/reads on him? The call is for half your stack and it's most likely a race but the looser the villain the more likely his range has worse pairs. A really tight villain might have 77/88 in his range here but he'd probably call/fold worse pairs than that.

If we have no reads I'm tempted to just pitch the hand. I used to snap call these but it's 50% of your stack in what's almost always a race and we're in a very comfortable spot with 50 bb's. You don't need to take massive flips in these spots.

in general i agree with fkcoolers, but given the positions here i don't think i could fold. you are opening the BTN and he jams the SB, and so big that i think we can discount the top of his range a bit–KK+–and makes it more likely he's jamming worse pairs.

Yeah, I had discounted the very top as well although I think QQ would jam at this buy-in level.

The jam of 25 bb here is probably a lot of big unpaired broadways and a smaller percentage of the time it’s a worse pair than ours.

Since TT/JJ/QQ all jam in my opinion I think it’s a fairly close call for 50% of our stack. I’m on a Mac and Macs can’t run Pokerstove but the range I assigned to him initially was…

66+, KQ+, ATs+

Can someone see what our equity is with 99 against that range, please? I’m assigning this range based on a shove of 25 bb and zero reads on the villain.

Some people really avoid to flip and I used to be like that, now I think i like to gamble a bit more if I know i could be ahead of villan's range…variance comes into play obvs lot more.

Anyways he was russian (not racist btw) and and I snaped there, i would have folded to a tight guy.

Im gessin 1010 i have to snap….what about a hand like AQ???? Really gets me in to trouble…

coolers you can go to propokertools.com. their simulator isn't as easy to use as pokerstove, but it's pretty sweet nonetheless.

we need ~43% and against 66+, AQ+, KQs we have 46%.

@OP, it's hard to just give you a range to call here without first discussing what is a reasonable range for Villain to be shoving.

i'm probably calling 99+ AQs+

this would be against a range pretty similar to FkCoolers

1 other thing to mention with regard to ICM which people forget about is that if you feel you have an edge over your opponents you should TIGHTEN your range in close all in situations. This is because your edge should give you clearer/easier spots in the future to take advantage of rather than risk a lot of your chips on a marginal EV play.

Again – if your opponent has an edge over you, loosen up.

I guess this just re-iterates the fact that we should know as much as we can about our villains in all respects when getting it in

I'm folding pre flop here unless I have info that the players 3 bet all in range is light, like 22+ and 910s+. If he has a higher range for this bet like 99+ and ,A10+, your looking at being behind all his pairs, and only a flip to all his J10+ hands. I'd just fold and wait for a better opportunity to use my 39k (M of 19). Players I know nothing about I normally give credit untill I know differently.
