40/80 mp flats, button flats i have QQ in BB with 2400, i raise 400 and both call

flop TJ7r 1200 in the pot i have 2000 left and i bet 750 mp folds button ships all in he has me covered, i call he turns over 85

Im sick of people saying keep getting it in ahead and you will win but when i keep getting it in ahead i have to lose 1 of them and then im out.

Maybe its bad to just think oh im ahead shove cause then its all down to luck confused

yea he hit a 9 cry

Pro's say its easy to play vs bad players and i can see y but i dont see how you can beat a field of fish when they play so bad and hit.

This prob should be in the BBV forum. But im just really struggling with tilt when i keep playin well to bust to such ridiculous plays.

HH from the other day just to show how bad it is

$2.20 blinds 500/1000

im utg with 40k and raise 2250 with AA

utg+1 has 55k and 3-bets to 5500

utg+2 has 40k and 4-bets to 15k

folds round to me i ship and they both call

utg+1 has 33, utg+2 has 77 and i dont hold.

Obviously im not always gona win i understand that but what i dont understand is how they get it all in and think there ahead

My only suggestion to you is to lose that negative attitude. Variance sucks. It happens and get used to it to be blunt. Keep putting yourself in the position to get deep and get your money in good and you will get there if you play well.

You don't beat them when this happens.  Instead, you beat them when they play so bad and miss, which happens much more frequently.  Stop complaining and keep playing well.

Danny is right in what he says. However I can identify with what you are saying about getting bad beats from the fish. I only play about two Mtts a night, three nights a week so if I get a bad beat from a fish, it kinda ruins my night.

I have seen good regular players go 20 or 30 tourneys without cashing but that might be only two days.

so varience evens out much quicker for them than for someone that is just playing one table at a time. It is a lot easier to shrug off the bad beat  and concentrate on all the other tables.

Its hard to lose negativity when you have to grind the small stakes and constantly bust to such bad play.

Like this tourny i played $1.10 6-max, 4000 players and i finish 135th.

Bust out hand im in the BB with 60bb cut off 20bb shoves, a very loose player who keeps playing any 2 on the button flats, i shove 99 in the bb to isloate but the button snaps me off with QJ….i had 60bb and he had me covered i mean how is he ever ahead there, thats y its so hard not to be negative when i get that deep play well and they make bad plays that are just rewarded all the time

i guess every player will tell u the same “BEEN THERE”

remember, everyone gets sucked out, everyone gets bad beats but on good days
WE also suck out and WE also give bad beats, and those are the days when you win. cause its not only about playing well its also about running good and having a good portion of luck to make it through those big field tourneys.

in the end mtts are all about variance, and variance can become our friend, how? with VOLUME and playing well

oh and of course positive attitude 😉

and btw its not only at the small stakes,  you will face crazy or bad play at every buyinlevel.

Keep your chin up mate, it happens to every single one of us and to every single one of us it feels like its only happening to us and that we are the unluckiest SOBs on the planet! I'm going through a similar phase again myself. Just yesterday in the space of of about 15mins I bust or got crippled in 3 tournies when I was put all in or had my allin shove called on the turn by players that had less than 8% chance of winning and they all hit out against me. And apart from the odd small field tourny I have FT'd since the second week of Jan, ok I'm part-time but i'm still playing 40+ mmts a week so this feels like an internity. But, I still believe in my game and skill, and I keep working on new lines and reviewing hands (and reading the forums) and I know that the good times will roll again!

Maybe play some small field sngs on the side or branch out into PLO or PLO H/L etc for some diversity. I've played alot more PLO H/L this week and FT'd several times, ok they're not life changing scores but I enjoyed playing them and making a couple of FTs really boosts the confidence.

All the best….cool

All you can do is play your best.  Winning an MTT is extremely hard to do.  In a 100 player MTT, you have to double your stack over 7 times.  In an average MTT that may mean you are all in 7 – 10 times with your tournament life (or very close to it) on the line.  Even if you are 80% to win each individual one, statistically you will only win 10% of the MTTs if you get all your all in's heads up with AA.

But then again look at the time you pull one off when you get all in QQ v. AA and flop a Q.

More realistically we will be all in on coin flips or 60/40 very often.  We need alot of luck to win MTTs.

It is my opinion that what makes a good MTT player is one who knows what to do and how to make the best of situations when the luck goes their way.  Get lucky and use your skill to win a few extra chips to protect you in your next all in.  Use your skill to avoid the trap.  Use your skill to trap your opponents into bad spots.  We all need luck, but the better players get more milage out of their luck than average or bad players.

Much trouble in micro stakes gives me hands like AQ, TT/JJ and the like in early/middle position at the beginning of a turbo MTT.

What to do. If you have limper, no matter what you raise, most call. And we talk 3-5 caller. If you raise insane like 10x you still get caller and are almost commited to the pot. Then you are oop with overcards to your middle pairs or tptk with your big aces. What to do. Often enough someone has a random crap hand that made two pair etc and you never know where you at in the hand.

At the moment i try these hands strictly for set value (tens, jacks) or str8, flush draws with big suited aces. So limping along or minraise to get value if you hit. But iso-raising doesn’t work in early phases.

EDIT: thats a good example, and a oh so often recurring situation
