I would have folded the flop if he bet 2/3 pot or less, but his sizing seemed so fishy that I thought he might be overly scared of a flush and I could continue with a plan to represent one. When lead the river I was picturing V rolling his eyes, saying in an extremely frustrated voice, “of course!”, and snap folding. I even sized it smaller to look like I was begging for a call.

Being results oriented I’m thinking he flopped a pair with the Kdiamond kicker?

Any thoughts?

Im going to bed, so too late for me. Do love monochrome as an adjective here.

I Googled “opposite of rainbow” and found:

“sandwich board” and “gun-metal”

“I 3bet villain on an ace high gunmetal board”.

Whatever. I’ll take a look at the hand tomorrow and give the Riceman verdict. I’m sure you cannot wait! wink

Just going to sleep but had a “eureka!” moment…

“I just 3bet villain on an ace high sandwich board!”

If sandwich board goes into poker terminology I want full credit.

Just fold the flop, don’t try to draw to bluffs. You aren’t always going to be able to figure out exactly what your opponent has. When you can’t, you need to make the decision based on your own range, and this is a relatively poor hand for continuing. It will never be better than a bluff-catcher, and it’s not even a very good bluff-catcher.

I’d fold pre-flop as well.

I’m surprised to hear you say you would fold it preflop. I thought my mistake was not 3-betting preflop….and then maybe giving up, or just a stab since I’d have taken the betting lead.

there is not much on the pot to defend, you are oop with a weak hand, I guess is much better to play it IP with more players, more equity when you hit the flush, two pair or something.

when there is antes you can consider to 3bet.

my thoughts, my HM is taking too much time to update my hands lol, lets wait for Andrew 🙂

Oh wow, you are right. This is pre-ante. Even with antes I think this was loose. Pre-ante is usually a fold here. I agree.
