I hadn’t played a hand in quite a while…  In fact, I haven’t played a hand at this table…  15-20 minutes here…

Villian had played a lot of pots, chipped up, I put him on the aggro side but nothing had been shown down…  Does that even matter here and what do we do?  I ruled out AQ, maaaaybe KQ, but what are we ahead of here with the action other than maybe KK (I think he plays faster pre) and some sort of draw/combo draw?  What do we do here?  Still 550 left, nowhere near the bubble, I’m top 100 in chips, well above average.

pretty gross.. any read on how tight or aggro the guy is?  People will spazz out with anything in $2 tournaments.  Prob is on a draw of some kind often enough though.

Use the hand convertor its super sexy Cool

This is a very nasty spot his raise commits him to the pot.  He either has a draw and we are flipping or he has us crushed, maybe 30% of the time we are way ahead.  I guess I puke in my mouth and kick the shit out of my dog and with a long siiigggghhh click foldCry

j/k  I dont have a dog Wink

I hate these spots. I play this tournament a lot and these spots are beyond routine. Gotta use whether or not you have a read to make the call. In general at this level try to not give people a lot of credit. From my experience it is pretty likely that he was holding TXs (probably A-Ts, K-Ts), caught the flop and is assuming you don’t have a queen because two of them are out there. I tend to run into a lot of this style of aggression from guys who have caught some piece of a paired flop and are just assuming you didn’t hit the pair and are going to be afraid of it and giving virtually no credit to the fact that you could be sitting on an overpair. I would probably take the risk and make the call, experience wise I find I am usually winning this >70% of the time and in a real good position.

I think this is a fold. You haven’t played a hand in 15-20 minutes and suddenly he’s picking it check/committ half of himself in a 3bet pot oop to you on a QQT flop?  He has plenty of Q’s in his open/call range, as well as 1010.  Don’t get it in here unless you have a read he’s a monkey

Thanks for all the replies guys.  This is a super gross, puke-filled moment that one generally doesn’t find often at this buy-in level (generally, the stack sized dictate this getting all-in pre with ths action…  mainly because 1/both parties are generally under 30 bigs and when it goes raise/reraise, it gets all in).  I think that one of my problems is that I do not take stacks into play and what I can do if I make a big laydown (though not sure how “big” this laydown would be).  Had I folded, I would have still had an abover average stack.  Even though I didn’t have a read on THIS player, I had seen this action at this level too often where people show down JJ or KK.  That’s my mistake, as there are many more hands in his raise/call range that hit this flop harder than KK/JJ.  Of course, villain had tens here and I got in horrible.  Sigh…
