since I joined the tpe I improved my 3bet  range now I 3bet more with small pp and middle pp,my push/fold game Now I push with wider range from late positions all so call wider from late positions, I play tighter at the beginning of the tournaments.

All these changes improve my rank in officialpokerrankings by around 40,000 places .But now I feel like I stuck and can not improve my game any more.Is that the point I just need keep on trying until my luck will come.I feel like the videos in the web site can not help me anymore ! do you have the same feeling ? Maybe I don’t choose the right videos ??maybe I play in big tournaments ,around 5000 players, so it take a lot of time till you have a big score ?

I think having a mindset that one can always get better is paramount to success. That applies to poker too! laugh

My suggestion would be to keep watching videos, especially theory heavy ones, and take a hard look at your own play. Upon careful analysis, I imagine you’ll find things to work on.

Keep grinding and studying and the results will catch up with you.

Are you doing hand history reviews? It may help you identify areas of improvement. In any case, good job on moving up in the ranks!

Glad to hear TPE has been helpful to you. I hate to say this, but small/medium pairs are often not the best 3-betting candidates, even when trying to widen your range 🙁

I think Gunn is right that you should try to study theory a bit more, understand WHY certain plays are profitable and how to figure out unfamiliar situations for yourself.

I also think mixing in some smaller tournaments (perhaps 90- or 180-players if you’re on Stars) would be good. It’s an understatement to say that it will take “a while” to see results in a 5000-player field. It’s entirely possible to play 10 of those a week for the rest of your life, be the best player in the field, and never make a final table. Variance is really, really high in events like that.

Keep up the good work!

Can you explain why pocket 2 is not good for 3bet ? in the long run pocket 2 is better than AK . Pocket 2 have  high proprobability to become monster on the flop and if you go on till the river it has 20% to hit set. if you look on AK it has around 48% to hit only one pair by the river in multi way pot it is not enough usually. The bottom line is in the long run pocket 2 is better than AK.

Pocket 2s can be counterfeited too easily. In non-shove spots, it’s really hard to know whether you have the best hand, and you have to make tough decisions on every street against most opponents. In shove spots, you’re 80/20 against any pocket pair that calls you.

AK can win unimproved and has two chances to have TPTK. Also, AK blocks a lot of Ax and Kx hands that would not have folded to a 3-bet.

22 is a hand that is usually extremely weak with little chance of improving, but every once in a while is extremely strong. Thus, you’d prefer to see the flop cheaply with it and have more money behind in order to invest heavily in your sets when you make them. With AK, it’s rare that you make a huge hand, but you often make a pretty good hand (TPTK or the best possible no-pair), which is all you need when the stack-to-pot ratio is low, which it often is in a 3-bet pot. Also, it’s almost always good enough to continue to a 4-bet, while 33 is not.

Check out my earliest videos on here. There’s three series I have in mind: Hand Reading, Getting Paid, and Bluffing. You might also want to think about/participate in this: …..op-action/
