hey hey!

no reads.

we are 18bb effective, when v checks flop and turn , i discounted Jx from their range , not to sure if they are on a draw here, but i reckon in all likely hood they’ll either shove flop or at least check/shove turn with their draws , so when we get to the river and they lead out , it never made much sense. I’m thinking my 2ed pair is good here, thoughts on calling river?

as for post flop, I was unsure if i should bet or check back , if we bet and get shoved on , i’m not to sure if we should be calling? probably would be a fold.

thoughts?

cheers 😀

An all-in from the villain would have been only for ~800 more and it would be like betting 2000 into 1700. The fact that he is betting 1200 and leaving behind 800 which is 5BB, I am forced to think he is either thinking his A-high is good. If I were the villain, I would lean towards thinking that you didnt hit the board since you were the original raiser and checked back the flop on a wet board. Either that or you have a monster, but more air in your range than TP or a set.

Villain might have A-3 or something as well, and he might think that you will put him all in on the river if he checks to you for the 3rd time. I strongly suspect this is a blocker bet unless he has a hand like 34 on the BB and he has hit 2 pair, but is afraid of bigger 2 pair or flush. He is hoping you are afraid of the flush and will just call with your holdings.

What does V think your range is? The turn bet looks like you’re trying to pick up the pot. But for him to just call the turn and lead the river? Flushes, 43, and 33 are in his range. The reason I would call is because his story doesn’t make sense to me.

Hero opens the pot and villain flats in bb?

In that case I don't see why we'd expect villain to donk top pair. It seems like Jx could certainly be in his range.

What bluffing candidates does villain have? What hands in his range should be betting for value?

Against micro fish, I think the best strategy is to never fold the top of our range, and avoid calling down or bluffing in marginal spots.

I think this is one of those marginal spots we should look to get away from. There is just too much in his range that beats us, and with the exception of busted broadway, I don't see what he's bluffing with. These guys will also show up with weird two pair hands too.

hey,

i might make it a bit bigger pre in general. about 2.2-2.3x.

flop is in my opinion a Cbet. our hand is good for one-two streets and i think on this we want to front load. on this we are likely ahead and we can value target a lot of draws plus some weaker Tx and maybe 7x.

river is a fold imho. this line from a micro villain looks much like a flush

yeah v was on the bb. If v had Jx in their range they would had bet turn and two pair type of hands would very likely be c/r shoved on turn. They may play their flush draws passively , i also dont think many micro players bluff oftenly so when they shove river they probably do have flushes or two pair type of hands which got their on the river like like 73s/T3s. Very unlikely that we have flushes in our range as we would bet our draws otf. I also dont think this player would turn a hand like 75o into a bluff otr, so i like folding river for sure.
