Hey, i was deep in the WCOOP 320$ tourney when this hand came up. I have been active at the table but tightened up a little the last 2 orbits and i didn't 3 bet that much. ImDaNuts, raised quite often from early position and he also did some weird 4bet/folding before.

Poker Stars No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t6000.00/t12000.00 Blinds – 7 players

Hand Conversion courtesy of Tournament Poker Edge

MP: t302479.00 25.21 BBs

CO: t622518.00 51.88 BBs

Hero (BTN): t431897.00 35.99 BBs

UTG: t702516.00 58.54 BBs

UTG+1: t233089.00 19.42 BBs

Pre Flop: (t18000) Hero is BTN with 7 of clubs 7 of diamonds

UTG raises to t24000, 3 folds, Hero raises to t56867, 2 folds, UTG raises to t101000, Hero raises to t430397, UTG calls t329397

Flop: (t878794) Q of spades 6 of clubs 3 of spades (2 players)

Turn: (t878794) K of hearts (2 players)

River: (t878794) 4 of diamonds (2 players)

What's the best play? Obviously the reraise is only good if i take it down enough preflop and being able to 5bet shove. Maybe flating preflop? Are we to shallow to 3bet get it in?

i would like to here some opinions by bigdog, hitthepanda or the other TPE pros.

Thanks.

What's his 4 bet sizing been like on average? Here he is almost doing a CIB but I can't say if it's to induce or give himself room to fold.

Even against Gettin Daize this still feels marginal. I'd feel better if we had 99 or TT bc it would leave room for a few worse pairs and some Ax stuff I've seen him get real weird with.

I'm sure he's noticed you've been tight for a few orbits so you need to range him with that info included.

You're not gonna make him fold TT and JJ so I think I lean toward folding here.

Interesting spot….I don't know if I don't mind a flat here….it's close as far as set mining goes but we also have position and the sb and bb are probably going to come along for the ride as well.  Just don't think we are getting it in very good at all against his 4b range esp if hes noticed you have tightened up.

about his 4bet sizing. It was about standard for him, he was always nearly minreraising. I think it's also not the best spot because i think he could also be shoving in that spot and i can't really call. He also wasn't that aggressive as i expected at the table and i could steal quite well. I think his reputation for being really crazy and the possible notification of him that i am not a highstakes reg i thought he could be bluffing. Whatever, at least i am really motivated to take more shots to make my first major final table :).

If there are some more opinions about the hand maybe with mathematical calculations i would be really interested in.

Thanks guys.

Wein, you don't fold vs. a random here do you? Is it just because Gettin Daize won't ever raise/fold enough pre to make 3 betting worth it?

it's a WCOOP, so the structure is insane and we are facing an UTG raise with 30 bigs.  We have an awkward stack, so 3-bet folding here seems a bit gross, although it is probably the 2nd best option besides folding.  We are far too shallow to flat, although I guess we could do that since we have the value of position to take down some pots.

I probably go with these three options in order:

1. Fold and avoid marginal spot

2.  3-bet fold since our player is cognitive and knows he doesn't need to take high variance spots, since the field with 15 left in a random WCOOP shouldn't be tough and he can rape and pillage them.  He won't be 4-betting light here, hardly ever.

3.  Flat and play a pot in position.

That's a really good point about the structure.

I keep forgetting that since I haven't played these types of serieseses yet.

Plus I would guess if you 3-bet/fold on a 35 bb stack all the good players at the table will take notice and play back at you every chance they get if they're not already doing it.

Since it's Gettin Daize I hope OP comes back with results but I'm expecting it to be a strong hand and not some of the really weird stuff I've seen him jam in big Sunday tournaments.
