Hello!

Im quite new to forum as well as mtt format so maybe some of my spots are pretty simple. However I would like to be 100% sure that my reasoning is correct.

Setup:

We are far away from bubble with over 50bb's.

Btn, wide opener in previous orbits makes standard 2x raise

SB, shorstack commit his whole stack

My reasoning is that Btn opens pretty wide so he will call my 4b push rarely. Then Sb decide to push AI with any reasonable hand due to shallow stack and blinds and antes already in the pot.

In addition to this, in case that we will lose part of our stack to 3b pusher, we will still have healthy stack and have a lot of room to maneuver.

It is pretty hard to assign exact hand ranges to both players to calculate cEV.

My question is: Is it appropriate to take marginal cEV spots to accumulate bigger stack or should I wait for better spots in tournaments with such a weak field?

Looking for your response

I agree with your choice to shove in this spot. Put the pressure on the button. Pretty sick if you flat and he shoves.

This is pretty close, but I don't mind it. I think you're likely to be doing very well against the SB's range and the button is going to fold almost always. If you just call the SB's shove you're going to be priced into calling the button's reshove anyway, so shoving is definitely the play if you decide you have enough equity vs the SB. I like the play. I'm not sure I'd do this with KJs, though.

If you want to calculate the exact profitability of the play based on specific ranges, use ICMIZER. It's a great tool for this.

Thanks for your point of view. My assumptions are almost the same as yours.

Im using ICMizer for over 1year now. You are right, very helpful tool to calculate these spots. Im quite new to mtt format so I would like to check that my thinking is correct.

Once again thank you for help! smile
