The villian is the big stack at the table and has been re-raising peoples bets.  After the flop I didn't think that he would call my pre-flop raise with a hand that had a 8 or a 6 so I thought I was still ahead of his range and thats why I called his raise (he has done this before).  Should I have re-raised him all-in here or folded since he had me covered.  If you want  to know the result let me know and I will pm how it turns out.

if you are going to make a move in this hand, i would just shove over his raise on the flop, but in general i think flop and turn are spew

I dont think any move is “dumb” as you put it up here and will learn from it. So in that way its hugley profitable for you and your game.

I feel that if you feel your hand is ahead of his then you should shove over his raise on flop. Never be flatting in this spot, either shove or fold.

Secondly I understand when you say that he was aggressive and wont have an 8 or 6 in his range, however my first feeling was 99 or 1010. Loose Agressive players (LAGs) can pick up a hand now and then so you should always be wary of this.

I cant see him raising the flop and firing the turn without a made hand here.

smaller bet  on flop and fold after his raise.he can't fold after he bets the turn so i think it is very bad spot for you to shove.

betting flop smaller is a good point too. you can easily bet fold something like 1010 and save yourself 500 chips when you get raised.
