I would have 3-bet him but not with all-in. Usually he is attempting a steal and will fold to a 3-bet, I go with 3x his bet. TAo is one of those danger hands that people tend to overplay, it is def. hand for resteal when in BB. I don't agree with the shove though; you are still good with BB and M.

Assuming I would have a good 3bet shove stack, what should be my range vs a BTN raise??

I agree with the 3bet, but 8x is a little extreme for me. I would go with a 2.5-3x 3bet and see what he does. If he calls you can play post flop, just have to be cautious as the pot is going to be a bit bloated so you may need to exercise some control over it.
