Ok my buddy and I disaggree where this is a shove or call. I shoved because I was putting half my stack in with QQ. Would like input on whether this was right or wrong and why.

I shove it all day and twice on Sunday. Horrible play by the villian serious 98o, did you textbox a TPE referral after that for their sake?

It was a good play, because you have a strong hand in position, you have him covered and you price out the remianing players to act. The chances of someone having a better hand is smaller than your chance of being ahead. In the long run this is a profitable move, even though you may loose to AA,KK or suckout every once in awhile.

No doubt a shove. We just flat call here maybe with KK or AA to induce possible spaze by someone else behind us but not with QQ.

I'm confused.

Why can't OP flat here and induce stacks behind him?  That 38bb small blind looks juicy.

i dont think this works that often in a $2 game, they flat you about 90% of the time rather than squeezing

don't we want them to flat here considering we're calling a 20bb shove to begin with?

Do you want to play a multiway pot here with QQ?

Flat > Shove even though flat is for the majority of your stack. Like Wein said, give someone else the chance to make a mistake. In a $2 mtt you will see worse pairs shove over you as well as a hand like AJs in some cases.

we're not really worried about a multi-way pot here with queens.  We're flatting here and inducing a shove pre.  If they flat, we're jamming or calling on almost every board.

I'm at work and cannot access pokerstove, but maybe i'll get some numbers this eve, but………

If we put ranges out there for MP1 v our QQ, will we not like our equity much more than if we have QQ v MP1 v SB(?) overcall / shove ????

Granted we can win much more, but less chance of doing so???

I'll get on pokerstove tonight – interested to see results…..
