This hand happened a few weeks back, i won a sat, exercising a bit more BR management since joining here, didnt fully understand variance till you laid it out for me! thank you. the previous hand pillypill doubled through Renez85. phillyphil showing Ad6d making a flush to Renez85's AcQd. the hand played out the same second time round with Renez85 opening for 2199 again and phillyphil shoving on him, would like to any thoughts you may have, should i call all day or not get involved in a possible 3 way pot with jj? thanks all.

A bit against the grain but I would consider folding. Calling off for 15bb here isn’t the spot I’ve been waiting for. If you snap call here would you also snap call with 1010? I wouldn’t. JJ is marginal here for me. Calling off is so much weaker than shoving especially with opener still to act
considering the table history too. Pillypil now has 20bb he’s not desperate anymore, but he knows people expect him to ship light over renez’s open. Which is why i think Pillypil does this with His premiums coz he can expect to get looked up. More I think about it the stronger pilly’s range is getting. A 10bb shove with A6 isn’t too crazy probably just unlucky to walk into AQ. But a 20 bb shove expecting to get looked up? Looks strong to me
maybe in an event at my regular buy in I might call. But a min cash in this tourney probably gets me 100 regular buy ins. So I’m not looking to maximise my variance by calling off 100 from a cash probably flipping. Which is another reason why I’m tighter in this spot.
U cant ask for a better spot than this to get ur money in and try double up and have a fair shot of winning good money…The MP opener means absolutely nothing with his stack size and his pos villains range is very wide, and the 20BB reshover could be doing that with any type of pair, broadways and even Ax and Kx typa hands cuz he sense the same as we do and he doesnt believe someone behind him is gonna wake up often enough with a hand like yours to call in this situation, and beside u only have to really be worried about QQ, KK and AA, thats only a veeeeeeeeery small % of hands on either of both villains ranges…Im jamming here all day.
Here I like to assign pillypill a range with 19BB.5, since I don't know his game I'll give him a bit tighter range (8's+, AQs, AKo) even with that tight of a range (which is probably more credit than desirved) you're flipping > crushing equally as often crushed with a thin thin chance of chopping. Folding is bad here, get it in no question about it.
