Hi Guys,
After raising pre and getting called by a decent reg behind me, I think betting the flop here will turn this hand into a bluff as I don’t beat most of his calling range (apart from a small sample of unpaired 3x) but do beat practically all his folding range. So, I think check calling here seems most worthwhile except my check calling range is very “faceup” containing only really good Axs in an attempt to preserve their showdown value. I would bet all unpaired Kx and worse as a bluff, and also anything paired (including pocket pairs) for value. The only thing I can envision also check calling is something like 4x or 2x so my check calling range is quite narrow only containing the low end of my marginal range.
My question is because my perceived (and actual) check calling range is so narrow and hence pretty exploitable, is it worthile getting rid of it entirely and betting my entire range?

2 folds, Hero raises to t2800, MP2 calls t2800, 4 folds

For me, I struggle with this concept more generally as well so any advice about how to take “tactically appropriate” lines that are only done with a very narrow range of hands that is really hard to balance, and consequently very exploitable?
Thanks,

This is a good thing to be thinking about. It’s a tricky subject without an easy answer, but continuing to explore it will make you a better poker player.
Couple things:
1. Not really getting to your point, but with your stack being what it is, check-raising all in is a very viable option, especially if you think Villain will often bluff when you check.
2. Suppose your opponent knew that you would employ the strategy you describe above (bet all hands better and worse than Ace-high, check-call Ace-high). How could she exploit that? Try to list as many ways as possible, and consider both your betting and checking ranges. Don’t just focus on what you are afraid will happen with the exact hand you have now.
3. You shouldn’t expect every hand in your range to show a profit. Sometimes you just don’t have a clearly profitable option with a hand that is on the cusp of two ranges. Of course it’s good to look for them anyway, but you should know that they arent’ guaranteed to be there.
