Okay…crazy hand. I have a monster hand and play it as such and get 4-bet post flop. Have a good read on villian as super tight and stats for him are about 14/10 after 90 some hands. He seemed to always raise 3x even in the much later stages of the tournament (he seems very ABC poker). This is the stars deep stacks tourney and blind structure is very slow so I definitely play tight early on and only pick the best spots.

I feel like I played the hand real well up to the time I was 4-bet, do you all agree? I feel like he has KK+ or a set. What hands do you guys put him on and do you fold to the 4-bet. Thanks everyone!

when we are this deep, i think flatting the flop bet is the way to go.

raising puts you in a tough spot because there are a whole range of hands that could play this way, overpairs, TJ, sets, even some random stuff.

hands like KQ, QJ have a tough time continuing after you raise flop, but these are the hands that we want max value from.

i prefer to flat flop and re-evaluate but most likely call turn/river depending on action.

A 14/10 isn't repopping you with worse. You're chopping or you're dead here.

I don't think 3 betting such a dry board this deep is very good, either.

As Benny said you're removing hands we dominate from his range when you 3 bet and leaving only a very narrow and very strong range when he continues with the hand. Doubt a 14/10 is sticking it in with JT here this deep ever.

JT is possibly the ONLY hand that we beat that is in villains range, but i agree its not there that often either.

question you should be asking yourself when raising the flop is “what worse hands will call or raise me and will any better hands fold?”

against this type of villain you're better off flatting the flop.
