hand 169

final table 9 handed of a $215 60k prizepool on bovada

3k/6k hero has 144k
utg+1 opens to 13222 with 183k behind
one stack with 10bb left to act, rest are 25+
hj flats 330k behind
folds to me in bb with TT

hero flats flop (48066) 9h5d5c

hero leads 23222, fold fold villain has AK and 44

flatter was fishy from what i can remember and have noted, opener was competent but thought he took a bad steal spot in ep earlier where he was likely to be shoved on.

So, this is the 15th hand of of a $8 500cap tourny. Origianl raiser is running stats of 41/38 over 15. Flatter is marked as a calling station.

Kinda hate the way i played this,

I think i should be flatting pre to keep his worse Ax in the hand, but once i get 4bet, i think 5bet jam>call>fold with all the dead money in the pot

What's up Boys…….

Parx $500  Day 2, Getting close to money  about 8 players away.

Hero:  White male, 40, Tourney Reg in the AC/Pa/NJ/Del area.  He's ok, but not a supastar. lol

Villian:  Patty Haggerty, white female, 30, Tourney Reg live/online.  Close friends (Roommates I think) w/ our own TPE Pro Jamie K.  Not a supastar, but she is solid, been to Lee Childs class, knows lots of area pros (Alex Rocha, J.A. Hines aka Bistro, others)

*we have played both online and live at the same table.  We know each other have results and can play.  There's respect.

71 or so left, 64 PAID. 70k for 1st

3k/6k/500  1 hour long levs

Hero has 215k (34ishbb's)

Villian has 600k (lots lol)

Hero in middle pos, playing tight, been at 15bb since start after taking bad beat from Matt Glantz (QQ<66) aipf.  Just won an aipf and another hand that got me to 30bb's.

Hand:  A2cc

-folds to hero, open to 14k. everyone folds to Patty in BB, she flats……

-FLOP  7 2 2 (POT- 35k)

-She chks, I bet 10k, she calls

-TURN 3h (POT- 55k)

-she chks, I bet 35k, she flats

-RIVER 6d

-she leads out and bets 50k, I tank, count all my ships, look at board and about 6 from money.  I call.  I quickly turn my TRIPS over and believe she had two pair 76.

-she had 77 for a FULL HOUSE.

-I felt like I should have busted, but saved it and did cash.  Just a nasty flop.  Wondering what you boys think.  The 10k bet on the flop was because of our history and knowing who each of us HANG with.  Ovb, I was going to crank it up on the turn and was hoping she would reraise w/ that board hoping to get it all in, but she just flats both times.  Then she leads out on the river and I thought she had top two pair w/ 76 or a good pair like 88 or 99's.  Didn't think she had 77 or would call w/ 66 or 54s or 54o. I actually thought about raising the river because I didn't see my hand being beat the way it was played.  Let me know if you guys want more information

This was a couple of months back but we were quite deep in super ko, villain hadn't got too far out of line and wasn't looking to go broke on a bluff. He had been playing solid, hero has a more aggro image and has shown down some bad hands throughout the later stages of the tournament.

This hand happened 20 minutes ago. Obviously I like the result. Not so sure about my thought process though.

Villain was quite active and agressive prior to this hand. We played three hands earlier. In two of those, he forced me off a marginal hand with a big bet on the river.

Didn't have my HUD fired up yet, so no stats.

This is from a live game:

Cavendish Charity MTT – $60 entry + $30 add on (after level 4 – 1,000 chips)

Starting stacks were 1,500.

The villain in this hand is a boisterous Russian (or Central European accent) guy. He is in the small blind.  I just moved to this table less than 1 full orbit before, but the table was talking about him being “lucky”, and he was pretty active in the 5 hands I witnessed, and he had a lot of the smaller chips.

Dealt to Hero: [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]

Effective Stack: 2,000

25/50 (Level 4)

Hero's Position: MP1

Villain's Position: SB

Preflop: (75) Hero raises to 125, villain calls.

Flop: (300) [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]  Villain checks, Hero bets 150, Villain raises to 300, I call.

Turn: (900) [Image Can Not Be Found] Villain checks, Hero checks.

River: (900) [Image Can Not Be Found] Vilain bets 400, Hero calls.

Villain mucks.

Doesnt look like you hit 20 so I'll post another :-), which is actually related to the same topic as the last one.

This is the Quad $5 on Stars. I have been at the table for about 30 hands and everyone has been straight forward. No-one stands out as playing too many or too few hands.

I know this seems a low complexity hand but the discussion in the forum on my hand in the Big $16.50 shows 'getting value' is a topic worth discussion.

…..big-16-50/

I would be interested how you would play the hand and what adjustments you would make if the Button player was more LAG or more TAG.

Cheers!

Story to the hand: This was at the FT of a $16.50 turbo on stars. Villain was a very good reg, his OPR is 99,9+%, I knew he had a stealing-% from CO&button of 55%.

In retro I feel like a morron and am folding here all day due to ICM, because of the shortstack and the payjump (5th was $1.3k, 4th $1.85k, 1st about $4k+). MY BR floats around $5k, so I think payjumps are still quite relevant to me.

My main question would be: Is it EVER a good idea to shove in this spot? Assume A) we don't care much for a $500 bump from 4th to 5th, but want to maximize our chance to finish 1st or B) we are far from the FT, where moneysteps are still small.

Hey wassup – not sure if you meant 20 posts in this thread or in the forum in general, so just in case it was this thread here's a hand on the bubble of $5 $2k Gntd on Party tonight. Interested to see how you guys would play this hand, do you always flat to see a flop, and always plan to commit your stack if you hit top pair. In the hand I didn't want to shove on the flop as I wanted to keep worse hands in, ok no that's a whopper, in game I think I wanted to raise with the intention to fold if he shoved, nit alert!!!! BUT if he shoved I would probably de-nit my scarf and call anyways. When he flatted I assumed he was on a draw so shoved on the turn. Regardless of the outcome would be interested to hear your thoughts and see if the bubble comes into play or not, I actually made the money by a single place so someone else must have busted while this hand was in play, but hey at this small buy in the bubble is kinda irrelevant in a sense, but it does mean 2 more entries which I could run deep in which I wouldn't have if I didn't make it through.

I don't tend to play with a HUD, I find it distracting and when I'm 8 tabling the HUD tends to obscure parts of the screen which I need to see! In game the fact villain was opening from the hijack I put him on a wide range and 10 Q flops pretty well a lot of the time, I'd prefer JQ, hell I'd prefer Aces but we can't have everything so have to make the best with what we have right. I was calling anyway before cutoff calls – what a weird call right, with 8.5BB, but with CO in as well it gives me a better price to call, though I guess it means it reduces my equity in the hand. I'm probably not flatting here with <20BB, would you guys flat here with this stack and with anything less than 20BB?

When villain bets less than half pot with a fairly wet board I'm thinking he missed here a large percentage of the time with overcards, with an overpair I think he bets more into 2 opps, though with trips he may well bet this size, but we all now how hard it is to make trips. So I re-raise deciding if he shoves I have a tough decision to make and may still find a fold, I don't want to shove as I think I'm only usually getting called by worse, and if he calls my raise I plan to shove any non Ace, possibly non King turn card. Well I didn't plan this, this is what I now think, though perhaps shoving on any turn card is the way to go. Anyway, it's late and I'm rambling so I'll paste the history and hope you guys have time to review when you get back from all those deep runs in the WSOP. Fingers crossed for both of ya, take one down for TPE.
