This type of hand has been getting me thinking lately of more direct and easy lines.

Very early in this turbo – villain has played 2 hands, raising and taking blinds uncontested. I have pretty much just arrived at the table.

My problem is that i have never narrowed his range at any point.

Is there a place for c/r the flop? He's def not folding any better hands but he may elect to float with AK/AQ..

What about turn play – am i too passive? I just thought that if i call here i have to most likely call a river bet and feel like an idiot when he rolls over QQ+

Also i figured that against an unknown, he would most likely check behind turn and not 2 barrell with missed overs so i folded.

this is a turbo tourney? i'd 3b pre and try to get it in on a flop like this.

i would say ranging him is pretty difficult that early and with no special reads, but as you mentioned he seemed not the tightest player on earth when you have just arrived and already have seen 2 plays of him.

btw in a normal mtt, i guess i would also prefer calling pre (that early in the tourney) but i'd definetly would raise this flop

you basically lose to nothing except an overpair on that board – if you play a passive line like this, i think you have to be prepared to call down turn and probably river too.

as badabing mentioned, i would definitely 3bet this pre, you have no info on ranges so you are pretty much guessing through out the whole hand here
