I marked a hand yesterday, that I would break down today. Thought I might as well do it here. Maybe someone had a comment or could learn something.
Its tough to do this correct in game. But the more I do it off table the better I get.
So here goes.
Early in a $109 20k gtd MTT. Villain is unknown.

I raise this range:
On this dry 553 flop i could bet 33 and 55 to get value from floats and PPs. But i want to be ballanced and protect my check range as I do have a check range here.
I check this range:
I only check the combos of suited broadways that doesnt have backdoor FD.
Villain bets ½ pot and i need to defend at least 67% of my range. When I only call i need to defend a bit wider, since hes bluffs stille has equity against my range.
So I defend with these 43 combos out of the range of 59 combos.
The turn K hits my range good.
What I didnt realize in play was that I should use AQs here as a bluff, if I wanted to raise my value hands.
So I think I made a big mistake folding it.
Villain bets ½ pot again and I need to defend at least 67% of my range.
My range on the turn is 40 combos. I fold the 13 combos of AJo and AJs.
All my AK hands are now value hands. The downside of raising AK is that they block some of the KQ and KJ hands that might call.
But the rest of my range works very good as raises.
AQ as bluffs blocks a lot of villains calling hands as AK, AA, KQ and maybe QQ. 55 and 33 dosnt block those hands.
When I fold AJ and AJs i got 13 bluffs left and 14 value hands. I think that is ok in this spot.
