hey

New to the table.

opponents at lower stakes don’t play optimally so their calling ranges are going to be bit too wide so i think maybe it would be better if we shove a tighter range from UTG. I’d usually shove 88+ AJ+ in this exact spot here. When shoving a nash range , i think you still can break even when shoving a wider range from UTG , a nash range may include JTs+ QTs+ KTs+ 66+ ATs+ and even weaker hands like A2s-A5s. I’m not exactly sure what the nash range is since its been a while i’ve played about with nash , but i am pretty sure those hands are included init.

We could also raise but if someone shoves we are likely going to get good odds on a call unless we think their shoving a tighter range then we probably wont have enough equity to call the 3-bet. I’d assume though if we open raise from utg and v shoves over the top there range is going to be rather tight since we’ve opened up in early position. Of course if we’ve been opening often we’re going to have to call off  as our hand is going to have decent equity against their 3-bet shoving range as v 3-bet shoving range will be wider. read less though i’d very likely r/f if someone 3-bet shove.

cheers.

also i forgot to metion that this is a turbo , but yeah whether its a turbo or a slow structure tournament , would that make much of a big difference in this spot?

cheers.

In a freeroll if you think you can outplay your opponents then KJs can be a raise/fold, but in a turbo, esp. if blinds are about to go up, it’s definitely EASIER to shove. I know I would, but that’s because I wouldn’t know what to do if the flop missed me.

With KJs you got a equity of 0,12%. You can push with 11% of your Hands and with 9.4% of your Hands from Nash Equilibrium.

It belongs also to the rewards you get at the tournament.

If the prize pool is regular, the push is the best option especially in turbos you have to take the risk.

If you play for a prize poll where many players a winning the same amount of prize like tournament tickets and so on it depends how far away you are from the prized spots.

If there are only two or three seat opens are needed to get the ticket and and there are some players in the line who have less chips, i would think about a fold.

Raise for me is never a option with that hand.

isn’t it better to play nash ranges if you’re up against better players or when you don’t have a read on your opponents? Playing a exploitable strategy would be more profitable thats if you’re read is correct in regards to their calling ranges.

also how did u figure you have 0.12% equity with KJs?

I imagine this is a shove. Most weaker players are going to call shoves with tighter ranges rather than wider ones as you suggested, so I think this is probably just about okay if we’re confident most of the table is calling tighter than Nash. It’s probably in the Nash range too, to be honest.
