With 18bb's I would open shove there and be happy to take the blinds… Reasons being that 88 just won't flop well most of the times if we are called and our stack can't really afford to cbet and fold…

I also would shove 22bb's here, tho I 'm not sure if that is a smart thing to do…

Base your decision as if you were UTG+1 as there is a player with a M=1 to act after you; just ignore him, im mean I know.

I didnt yet had the time (Lazyness is definitly -EV)  to calculate the M you need with specific pairs, in different positions, to make an open shove +EV.

Until I do so, I use a graph that indicates for every pair, in every position, the probability that somebody ends up with a bigger pair than mine; as those are the hands against which your equity is just awful (18%).

In your case, with 88 in UTG+1, there is a 18.9% (1/5.3) probability that a player still to act wake up with 99+.

The rest of the time you either pick up the blinds or ends up playing for stack against high cards (AK,AQ, maybe AJ) as a slight favorite, or against a lower pair (most likely 77) as a big favorite.

Its a tough one, but since your gonna go through the blinds next hand, and that I think some players call your shove with 77, I would open shove.

I dont like making a normal raise as some bad players will flat you with junk, and put you in tough spots on flops with overcards.

open shove is the play u want here. just 18BB left we definately dont want to min raise/fold , flat or 3bet any later action OOP. as posted ur gonna hate most flops and will not know wt to do. play this hand easily and open shove.

You'd have to get a pro to confirtm this, but afaik 88 is a fold and TT is close.
