Hi All,

I’m outside the US and I only play live poker anyhow, but just curious whether many US pros are playing online using bitcoin? I would expect this to have exploded by now – but maybe the sites offering bitcoin aren’t credible enough, or… ?

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this!

Thinking further on this – any ideas on what makes any online casino credible? For most people, is it the case that they sort of vaguely figure if the casino are spending enough marketing money to have a visible presence, sponsoring known pros, etc., it’s assumed it’s not worth the risk for them to include cheating as part of their business strategy? I think this is the case with the bigger brick-and-mortar casinos, you assume they are making so much money legitimately that it’s not worth the risk to cheat as policy (though I’m sure there are a fair number of corrupt staff). I don’t follow the subject closely, but IIRC UltimateBet.com was caught cheating some years back by players sharing HH data with each other and seeing suspicious patterns? Are players regularly doing community policing of online casinos this way currently?

Thanks

I wrote a giant response and I got logged out. Ugh. Here is a short version.

Twitch streamer Sizzlinbetta uses bitcoin rooms if I remember correctly.

…..ortsbooks/ is a good resource for sportsbooks. Poker rooms don’t have a similar rating system because there are so few gray market poker rooms out there. My theory is you need an economy of scale for a poker room to work, but for a sportsbook you just need lines and someone to book the action.

You’ll notice Bovada on that list because it is a sportsbook first and a poker room second.

America’s Cardroom has bitcoin cashout. You have to setup a couple outside accounts, but after that it is super easy. If only Bovada offered it too…
