Hello!

Because of the stack sizes OTF, I was thinking how good this is to bet pot, or even allin, multiway…

Merge, $11 Buy-in (125/250 blinds, 25 ante) No Limit Hold’em Tournament, 7 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager – The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 3,460 (13.8 bb)
BB: 2,925 (11.7 bb)
Hero (MP1): 10,607 (42.4 bb)
MP2: 2,984 (11.9 bb)
MP3: 2,975 (11.9 bb)
CO: 5,725 (22.9 bb)
BTN: 11,770 (47.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 6diamond 6spade
Hero raises to 500, MP2 folds, MP3 calls 500, 2 folds, SB calls 375, BB calls 250

Flop: (2,175) 3heart 3diamond Qheart (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero???

I think betting pot size/allin into 3 players behind is burning money.

You only get called by the better hand.

Preflop you should take care about the stack sizes of the players who are act behind you.

There are 3 short, 2 medium and 1 big stack behind you.

The short stacks could squeeze allin.

Also the big stack could call pretty wide with hands like qt, kq , q9s a higher mid pocket up to JJs.

I would playtime hand raise first in 2.25bb.

would fold to a raise of mp2, mp3 (here it depends what stats you have of that players),

would eventually call a raise from the btn (depends on the size) and evaluate the flop (so when i hit the set i can stack off the btn),

would eventually call the all in from the sb/bb (depends also on the stats of the players).

On the flop you i would play check call one street and play check fold to protect my stack.

Without reads, how do you feel about leading on the flop and folding to shoves? Paired flops miss most people, and I wouldn’t expect a bluff shove.

Wouldn’t it be bad to fold to the short stacks because we would only need around 40% equity if we lead with a 725 bet. In their shoving ranges will be a lot of flush draws which makes it difficult to bet/fold.

The question was more about the paired board, because I expect them to shove a higher pair, and OTF the  3 callers are about 10bb deep, I dont think i can raise fold here, because draws will play like that most of the time.

But against 3 oponents I dont know

I think they will call with flush draws, and all better hands obv, on this level i dont want to bet something like 725, as you said and get 3 calls and an overcard ott. Also the board is paired, not sure how much % of the time they will hit it.

I agree with this play since you were the preflop aggressor.  I am not too worried about MP3 since he just called preflop and if he does raise the 725 bet and SB or BB call or reraise, then you can still get away.

Seems much better to bet small and fold to a jam, you can bet your bluffs fairly small on these flops anyway and even if they’re jamming flush draws your equity isn’t good enough to balance out the times you’re crushed by Qx. 600 is probably enough.
