Hey Hey
Reads – v is a loose passive opponent …I've not seen any hands showdown. I am pretty sure this guy is a really bad/weak opponent.
The turn was not a great card for me ...v could have flushes in there range so i checked back since i do have showdown value. On the river my hand improves v then checks again i now heavly discount flushes and indicates a marginal hand. so now i'm looking at my hand thinkng my relative hand strength is rather strong. I bet river for value to get calls from weaker Jx and medium pocket pairs.
I was pretty sure that v would bet his flushes on the river because its very likely that we are going to check back hands like KJo/JT/QJ.
so i'm now questioning if i should of checked back river?
i personally think b/f was fine as played though ...i think checking back here would be a mistake imo.

I think the bet/fold on the river is fine. I don't think a lot of weak players c/r rivers as a bluff very often.
My gut says you should try to go for value on the river, but I am wondering what hand he can call the flop raise with and call the river that is worse than top two. Are you trying to get looked up by a jack? That ace and the spades will be scare cards that will make it hard for him to call you. The only reasonalbe draws he might have on the flop that call your raise by the river are either flushes or straights. Still, one common feature of bad players is calling too much, so I would give him an opportunity to repeat that mistake. Bet smaller and hope.
