This is an interesting hand.  His range is super wide here since he is calling out of the bb.  The fact that he checks flop and then check min raises turn when an A is always in your range leads me to believe he is super strong here. He could however check min raise with 98 87 and 86. I would've more than likely played it the same way.  His bet of 982 on the river is around half pot which also leads me to believe he wants a call here so I probably fold but I'm not happy about it.

I do this sometimes if I am him to take control of the pot and reevaluate where I am/villian is in the hand if I am unsure. I mean he has a ton of hands that beat you, but if I am calling his c/r on turn, I am calling his river bet if the river changes nothing. The 2s changes nothing. This means the only possible thing that may make you improve on river is the K, which beats some 2 pairs in his range, therefore you should be folding the turn if you believe you are beat and not willing to call a river bet. I am pretty sure most of the time he is doing this with a weaker ace or a hand like 98/87 etc unless he flopped it. Think I call here. If you are beat you get info, its still preante, you are still alive when beat and I think you are ahead here a lot.

Agree with this. And his pf stats lean even more toward hands that hit this flop really well. He could have called with a worse Ax and turned 2 pair, too.

The minraise when the Ace hits is usually a lot of strength because they're now putting you on an Ace and trying to build a pot.

Agree with Danny. It’s not like we can expect him to check the river to us, so when we call the turn check-raise, it has to be with the intention of calling the river as well, especially on a card that doesn’t improve his perceived range at all. If we’re not willing to do this, then we should just be folding to the initial check-raise.

That being said, once you call the turn, and he fires again, we do have a bit more info available to us than we did when we were facing the initial check-raise. We now know that he was willing to fire again on a card that shouldn’t seen scary to our range, and then there was that stuff he typed in the chat, which in my experience is generally more indicative of a strong hand, no matter what they type. As someone who is bluffing is more likely to be sat back from the screen thinking “fold!……FOLD!!”

I think i would end up paying this off, then straight away make a note on him if he was bluffing, strong, or marginal when he said “xyz” in the chat.
