wow, wt a spot im in on this one. villian was somewt competent for this level(micro) of play. I had been opening a ton due to the table being fairly snug. villian was the only one at the table who would play with me. we played a few pots non going to SD. i won a couple and so did he. my plan after turning top pr was to get to SD as cheaply as possible now that i have shwdown value. my initial read was  putting him on a FD. when i ck the turn and he leads out now i'm thinking he is not on a FD and now maybe trying to gain value with a bigger ace. but when he shoves the river it confuses the hel out of me.  wt are we up against here.

My initial instinct is that he has AhXh.

I don't like narrowing it down to that specific of a range with slightly limited action in the hand so instead I just ask myself what I can beat in spots like this. I can't really come up with anything.

Gotta agree with Coolers on this, it screams that he is on hearts. I think you lost the minimum on the hand as I don't think that you were going to move him off the hand, especially with the lead out on the turn. Him shoving on the river with three hearts is an overshove, but it screams he doesn't care about the heart which is usually only the case if you are holding the Ace to the flush.

The turn bet makes this a nut flush 99.9% of the time and someone who is attempting to make up for not getting enough value from raising the flop by overshoving river.  When im the villain here i actually do the reverse and make a small thin value bet like 1111, or 1225, to get value out of the naked Ace you indicated having with the turn call, but in some of the videos of bigdog et al. they seem to be value betting bigger 1/2-2/3 pot bets so im not sure if i am missing value by betting 25-33% of the pot.  Do you think youd call a 2.5-3k bet on the river here Bjizz?
