First hand I'm dealt in tourney, no info on anyone. I like my flop play, as he won't believe me most the time and call with any pair, maybe AK, AJ. Thought the turn might look like a double barrel, and I don't like check-raise/call. He used up almost half his time bank to call the turn, so now Qx seemed much more likely. In this case would a river check-shove be best?

It looks to me as if you played it pretty good ..

you called for set value

you minraise to try to induce a bigger pot, shove..

the turn you bet for value and you said he timed banked it.

so on the river I think you got the most value,, and if you check most likely he would of check behind worried you had queen ten, ace queen, or full by the time tank you said he did.. so you would of lost value by not betting.

i think it is possible that on the turn if you check,, he may of bet 325ish then if you shoved he may of called, it is hard to say.. your turn bet looks to be stronger then trips to him

That's exactly what I was thinking, too easy for him to check behind on river, had to get value. I was hoping he'd raise turn, maybe if I bet a bit less.

You could overbet the river there. Just range him. He calls a raise on a lockdown board and then calls a huge turn bet. AT is like the only Tx in his range he's peeling and even that would be pretty dumb and pointless to do.

It looks so much like he has Qx but he's being passive.

I think your mistake was check raising the flop. You're going to do that and get folds so often, for starters. Plus, what hands check-raise that aren't a bluff? Qx and 5's full. It just makes no sense for pure bluffs to do it pre-antes on the first hand and there are no draws.

You may be correct to say he calls your c/r with any pair and maybe Ace high, but then what? What extra value are you expecting to get from any of that range once you 2 barrel after check-raising? Like every single hand in that range should fold turn.

i think you are being results oriented in thinking about a check raise on turn/river since you now know he had a Queen. You played the hand very well sir, his range can include PP's below a Q that will call down yet check back to your potential checks. Bet bet bet WP smile

I usually bet bigger on river, but not by much.  WP imo.

I also dont mind donk leading flop(kind of like a min bet on flop here because people spaz over that).  Or c/c'ing flop and donk leading turn.
