Live SNG at one casino.

We are 7-handed and blinds are 200/100.

My stack is 3800.

I pick up TT and facing min raise 475 from big stack. player to his left limps with.

first of all: big stack´s range is wide. he loves to play K7o – J8o type of hands. his stack is around 14k.

Player to his left range is unknown to me – he has played one hand publicly and those were jacks. His stack is 7,5k

I dont want to shove preflop with TT – value is too small if they would fold and if not one of them might easily flop any overcard and get his pair together.

So I limp.

Flop is 7,4,2. Theres two diamonds.

I check.

Big stack bets 875.

Player to his left calls.

I shove around 3100.

Big stack folds.

Player to his left calls.

He´s got K6  both diamonds.

Turn is blank.

River is 3 of diamond.

I´m out of tourney.

I think I made correct decisions or not?

I think i'd be shoving pre-flop. If the big stack is raising a wide range, the chances are the limper doesn't have much either and is just calling in position against an aggro player with a medium strength hand.

I would do the same as you if it got to the flop tho.

*Edited as I had put flop instead of pre-flop on 1st sentence

i was thinking maybe it would have right way to raise preflop, maybe that would made second player fold.

maybe 1200 bet would have been right, but then again my stack would be very vulnerable after that when any JQKA would flop on board. really tricky situation.

If there's $1,250 in the pot before it gets to you, I would have shoved it. It's approximately a third of your stack in the pot already. Picking up 33% of you stack without seeing a flop is well worth it. TT vs. the top 30% of hands is going to win 76% of the time.

On this flop, your hand is good 90% of the time. However, you put yourself in a bad spot by letting your oponents see the flop. One or both could have had trips already and one was on a flush draw and got there. The guy with the diamonds was deep stacked, so it's a lot easier for him to take that shot.

I agree about shoving preflop. Online i would have done it, but at live table theres somehow different psychological factor – you would like to get more info before flip, cause its annoying to leave tourney so early. but i was scared or greedy to make the right decision and went home anyway.
