Poker Stars No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t40.00/t80.00 Blinds – 6 players

DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG: t13176.00 164.70 BBs

Hero (MP): t14420.00 180.25 BBs

CO: t5990.00 74.88 BBs

BTN: t2720.00 34 BBs

SB: t3000.00 37.50 BBs

BB: t1115.00 13.94 BBs

Pre Flop: (t120) Hero is MP with T of diamonds T of spades

UTG raises to t240, Hero calls t240, CO calls t240, 1 fold, SB calls t200, BB raises to t1115, UTG calls t875, Hero calls t875, 1 fold, SB raises to t3000, UTG calls t1885, 1 fold

Flop: (t8470) 2 of spades 3 of spades 7 of spades (3 players)

Turn: (t8470) 2 of diamonds (3 players)

River: (t8470) 9 of hearts (3 players)

This was a Hand in The 5.5$ 6max Tourney on Stars.

UTG has played 35/19 in 37 Hands, The smallblind 36/18 on 72 Hands with a few 3bets and the Bigblind has played 40/12 in 26 Hands.

I just call the openraise from UTG because i dont wanted to play 3bet/f with TT and can´t go broke with 165bb.

After the allin of the first shortstack i call again, because of the good potodds and implieds.

But when the other shortstack also shoves allin and the openraiser flat again it looks very strong to me.

What to do here? Do i have to fold, or can i call again or even raise?

The hand has gotten really ugly, but we're priced in to make call.

I am not big with seeing a showdown with more then one other player but I agree with bjizzle-we have to call here.

When the SB flats, but then later in the hand shoves, it seems like this always means a hand like JJ, TT, 99, 88 or an ace like AQ, AJ, not bigger hands which would have raised pre from the get-go, not flatted.  Your hand can compete with that range given that there is dead money in the pot too.

But you also have to worry about the big stack.  He raised pre, but then flatted not once, but at two opportunities,  Unless he's pulling some real sophisticated tricks (and this a 5 buck tourney) it doesn't seem like you have to worry about a big pair here.  Your hand seems like it can compete with him too.  I say just put all your chips in, win and get a huge stack, or get into another tourney if you are beat.

Wow this is ugly.

With UTG having these stats and continuing to just call each time I feel like we could really just jam here and make him fold a ton of times.

You would hope even a total fish would put in a raise at some point here with a premium so it's not a 4 way flop.

I like the idea of jamming but tbh I would not think  of this while playing…I would freak the hell out.

But yeah you can't fold. SB's reshove after he calls does not look like a monster. I think you are flipping against him, crushed by JJ, or beating 77+.

I'm confused… did the BB fold in the hand?  I'm having issues following the action.  Can you post the raw HH without the converter?

Here's the action because I really want to hear more opinions on this…

UTG (164 bb's): opens to 240

Hero (180 bb's): Calls 240

CO (75 bb's): Calls 240

SB (38 bb's) Calls 200

BB (14 bb's) goes all-in for 1115 total

UTG calls

Hero Calls

CO Folds

Now SB re-shoves all-in for about 2700 more

UTG once again only calls

Hero ??

So now the pot has like 8500 in it and UTG has invested like 20% of his stack and it's 2700 more to us if we want to just call with our TT.

Doesn't seem like we have correct implied to call with our TT… but I'd really like to see the raw hand history.  This hand is confusing the **** out of me, to be honest.  I think it's a shove or fold, with me heavily leaning towards a fold with all the action that has happened.

This was my thought too. One the one hand his play seems strong, on the other hand his play doesn´t make realy sense.

Here is the raw hh:

personally I don't like calling the UTG's raise, i find that in low buyin mtt's if you call then you'll probably see two or more callers come into the pot.  With the UTG raising with 165bb's he/she could be raising light.  I like three betting here to limit the number of players wanting to see the flop and also to help define what the UTG has.

I think you played it fine, when you see the result it's easy to say you could have played it different, but with the information/action you had TT doesn't play well in a four way pot.

classic donkament handsmile.I also play these stakes  and i  almost never call after shortstack goes allin and utg raiser call.I believe i have the best hand preflop but with blinds so small and so bad players i wait for better spots. They will give their chips be patientsmile

This cool But I'm very often just shove when UTG flats twice.

i like this thought process as well. when i initially read and posted i didnt see anything wrong with the call pre, but as stated above ur likely gonna get more callers in the pot which is great for implied odds, but the hand can and did turned for the worst with all the action and no longer made the 1010 look all that well. i think 3betting pre is our best line pre being that we are very deep early on with a hand that is likely the best hand pre. 3bet for value pre and to narrow down flatting ranges.

if we had taken the 3bet line, when SB shoves with just 13bb and utg raiser just flats, because i think we have the best hand pre we could iso shove here to play against small stack and all the dead money.
