A hand I played while being railed and it was suggested to post it, so here it is.

It's early in tourney, sometimes I raise here sometimes I don't,  and decided to complete and disguise my hand, I feel I'm diciplined enough not to fall in love with my pair if a bad flop occurs, I simply give up this early multiway OOP without much invested.

Villian is a reg in this tourney, have had some history with him, I can't say I've ever seen him get out of line, but is capable of making moves, don't know if he is capable (or crazy enough) of making moves this early in a tourney but have seen him mix it up late in tourneys.

Looking back at it now, don't know if I like my check on flop, I think I could've led out in a limped pot, but as Daryl says “whatever”

I dont think we can be too happy bet/3 bet getting it in 100bb+ deep on a flop like this. I mean best case scenario we are up against a flush draw/combo draw. We can also be up against a set, and then we are crushed. We usually aren't getting it in on this flop way ahead, and there isn't a real need to gamble this early in a tourney with such deep stacks.

I don't mind completing here preflop, but raising is fine as well. Tens are on the border for me, as I'm not going to be raising 88-99 in this spot, but jj+ I would be. It's just not a spot where our hand plays well, and we end up playing a bloated pot if we raise. I would definitely lead this flop though, as we get many worse hands to call, and our hand is vulnerable to a lot of different turn cards. I would probably barrel on most turns that don't connect well with the flop. You don't have to be too worried if an overcard falls on the turn, as it probably won't connect very well with their flop flatting range. Overcards are probably some of the best cards that could fall to be honest because any 4-9 is much more likely to hit them.

As played, I would barrel bigger on the turn to charge his draws, and get value from his 8x hands. He's going to call 500 just as much as he will call 324 with an 8, and he will most likely come along for 500 with a lot of his draws. On the river, his bet is super polarized, and I don't see him playing many nutted hands (sets/straights) this way. He would probably try to get a set in on the flop, and would c/r 57 on the turn. This is a line some bad players will take with a missed draw because they think they can blow you off their hand. I would be snapping (well maybe not snapping, but definitely calling lol) here all day. Well done.

I would definitely raise TT pre here. If you are going to just complete SB, you are basically hoping to hit another T to continue with this hand OOP five handed. It is also much more easy to play this hand this way.

I dont mind completing but I also dont mind a 5-6x in the SB.  If we are completing though we need to realize we are basically only set mining.  As the flop came I dont like bloating it as we did.  I dont mind a lead actually first to act and if not a check call/see a turn is fine also.  I'm just not a fan of bloating pots early with this many BB.  Its just not worth it.  Another option is check call, lead turn.  Theres really a few different ways we could play this hand I would just try to keep the pot as small as possible.  As said above if this pot gets big you can expect at the very least to be up against a big draw and more times than not you will probably be beat.
