So I am working on one of my big leaks (specifically early play) and I have a question about transition to middle play. I use the presence of ante's to generally signal my change of play and the opening up of my late position ranges and play. When others make the transition to mid level play does everything open up for a short while (trying to leverage your TAG image for a little bit to do some stealing)? I am curious how others approach this change in play style and how they deal with this area of play.

I don't think you want to totally change up your image when the antes first come into play if you have a lot of bigs. Otherwise you're playing too spewy. You want to maintain a stack of at least 20 bigs but obv. 30+ allows you room to make moves and is ideal.

What I'm saying is I don't start 3 betting to top of my folding range from LP when the antes first kick in since you're still risking a fair bit to only win a little.

If I'm short I'll switch to looking for re-shove spots. Otherwise I'm waiting until the 2nd or 3rd level of antes before I start making moves.

Fkcoolers gives good advice. Also If your in the cut off or button and the players left to act are tight I will start loosening up as early as 50/100 if I have a stack around 30+BB.
