Fold PRE, specially with 16BB.

As played I think it is difficult for him to call you with any hand worse than yours and I don’t think our hand needs a lot of protection. There’re only 2 aces that can improve this hand (if he has an ace).

I’d check behind and let him bluff all his range in the river. In any case I think this is clearly a fold preflop.

Yeah very clear pre-flop fold, and easy turn check. So basically, just seconding chaos.

Yeah i would definitely be folding this pre, as played i also agree checking turn is the best play to keep villains bluffs in and let him make a mistake against our hand.

Not sure what chaos means about there only being 2 aces to improve villains hand if he has an ace, is that what you mean? Because a 5 would give him a wheel? And if he has the ace of hearts he has 3 aces?

Anyway i completely agree with chaos and foucault tho 🙂

Yeah, I’m not sure what I was thinking calling pre. I think fold > shove > call. Once I call the flop I’m not planning to fold unless something major changes, like turning an A (if Aheart I would just check behind of course). I decided to stay passive for the first street and evaluate opportunities on the turn.

On the turn I was toying with merging bluffing and value ranges and putting a tougher decision to V. Once he checks I think the only hands he has are weak show-down value type hands and hands that might have picked up equity on the turn.

– I discounted AK because I think it bets the turn a huge % of the time. KQ because I haven’t shown any aggression to make myself look strong enough that V should be worried about AK, so I think KQ groups in with AK and he bets KQ too. KJ is boarderline, but for better or worse I pushed it up to the top of his range. That leaves KT at best for top pair hands. That said, I honestly didn’t think there were many decent Kx hands in V’s range after he opened in EP and c-bet and then checked the turn. I’d export more AQ and lower pairs.

– At the time I did think I thought I could fold out any K9, KT a decent percent of the time assuming his check is for pot-control [but again didn’t expect many in an EP open’s range]. I think KQ, KJ are still very much in my range flatting with my stack size. With the SPR I can have made-straights, 2-pair, sets and bigger Ks here and make this same bet.

– I think some gambley worse flush draws and straight draws with a piece of the board might still call. Hands that might overvalue their chance of improving. Also hands like 99-QQ might call if they think I’m making a move.

The annoying thing is I only succeeded in merged being right and wrong when he called me with K9o.
