35 remaining in the nightly 20k on stars. UTG has been liming a ton regardless of position and i do not have him pegged as a particularly sophisticated player. When UTG +1 shoves 21 bigs i have his range as AQ, AK, 88, 99, 1010 or JJ.

UTG limps and UTG+1 shoves. given my reads and the dead money in the pot is this a jam?

I'd say definate jam – I dont see any point in calling, as you can never fold your remaining 9bigs to a SB shove, and I think folding is also out of the question because you have AK on a 30bb stack. I'd say the UTG+1 could have a wider range than what you assigned, especially if he has picked up on the UTG limp tendencies.

Sounds like the limper can be disregarded and you’re a favorite against the range of the player who’s shoving, so what else would you do? Doesn’t really matter when you shove or call and then call off the rest if anyone behind you shoves, but don’t fold.

Yeah, thanks for the insight fellas. I figured it was an easy jam and that is the play i made. I just wondered if it was reasonable for a guy to look for a less marginal spot since i was pretty positive i would be flipping for basically my tournament life so deep in a tourney.

You need ~47% equity to get it in here and you have ~53%. Sure, you could fold and wait to get AA vs KK, but you’re going to get KK vs AA just as often. Waiting for a better spot is another form of gambling. Instead of gambling that you’ll win the all in, you’re gambling that you get a set up in your favor before you end up on the wrong side of a set up and before you get blinded out.

Not that I would fold if it were the last of my chips, but there’s a huge difference between being left with 9BBs and being left with 0BBs.

I am also jamming here. Limper is not dangerous imo and many times we have utg+1 dominated.

The question here for me is what we do with AQ?
