Hey

reads – V is a good reg , has been playing solid.

thoughts on bluffing river? or do you  prefer to check down as we may have some showdown value?

It's just that when v checked river i discounted strong hands from there range , i think even  Kx would bet river for value. V has pretty much capped there range which is pairs below the king. Hands like KT, QT, JT T9s,  maybe pocket pairs 66/77/99 , i dont think they'll have a draw here that often since i really do think v will play their draws aggresively otf.

I think for hero to check back turn ,it looks kinda weak , if we were going to bluff it would of been to do that on the turn, so if hero does bluff river we may get called , unless of course we shove?

Overbet shoving would be terrible imo. Its wayyyy too big.

I dont really know why you’re considering a bluff here. AQo has good showdown value and im sure you arent getting many better hands than yours to fold. Even 66, 77 or 99 which would be the best candidates to have villain fold may call a river bet.

well if you aren’t over-bet shoving with your bluffs, you should at least be doing it with your value hands imo, either one of the two.

I did some quick math and correct me if I am wrong. When we get to the river the pot is 840 chips and you are playing villains effective stack of 3,105. 4x overbet shoving a board in early stages, pre-ante is pretty massive.

What value hands are you overbet shoving on this board?

Very clear turn bet. This board clearly favors your range as the PFR, you have a decent draw, so put another bet out there. It’s a lot easier to get away with a river bluff when you still have nutted hands in your range.

value hands i’m shoving will probably be hands like sets/two pair type of hands and TPTK , it really depends on what my value target is and my opponents tendencies. i’t pretty decent to balance your value/bluff hands on the river by doing these sorta moves , just puts them in nasty spots.

I agree if you are going to be overbet shoving for value you need to balance some bluffs. I think however that this particular hand is a better candidate for a check behind as we have good showdown value. I would be betting smaller than 4x pot with sets and 2 pairs to make villain have a wider calling range and think in the longterm it would show more profit.

I was waiting for your reply about the value hands before i mentioned that with these effective stacks on this board we would be 3barreling our hands for value, not checking the turn and betting the river. Andrew did mention this above also. All sets (KK, TT, 55) and 2pr (KT) would 3barrel for max value. This makes it really hard for us to represent anything of value on the river and the overbet wouldnt make sense to a decent hand reader.
