Thoughts on a bluff raise in a micro MTT

Hi All,

I'm down to 12 BB in a $4 micro MTT.

Villian has flatted UTG previously to a very wide range and has been quite active.

Would a reraise alin from me have possibly gotten a fold? I know my reraise is effectively an alin but maybe villian doesn't see it this way?!?!

I think the hand should just be put in the missed draw compartment but any thoughts appreciated.

Tks.

Having replied to your other post, it might be best not to post results since it might skew people's responses. If villain is flatting a wide range of cards, then it's possible that your 15BB shove may have got a fold, but I'd prefer to do this with 66+,AT+,KQ kind of hands, just in case. However, if he's limping utg with a 19BB stack then you can label him as bad and the kind of player that will call your all-in with hands that are ahead of you like K8s or A2o. With 15BB on the button I fold and look for a better spot. As played with two overs and an open-ended straight draw I'm never folding here. Reraise all-in on the flop. Not sure about villain's play (which is why it might be better not to post results so you get advice on how to play the hand in the future rather than people telling you that villain's play is just horrendous!).

As a fellow player in this stake level I can tell you that in general at this level (like 98%) it is pretty much suicide to bluff players here. The vast majority of players will call almost any bet (even ridiculous overbets) when they catch pieces of flops, especially TP or overcards. A substantial number of players will hold on to Ace high assuming it is good as well. So in general I don't think that playing that hand was bad, but I would have taken a different line post flop. For the most part I tend to float flops when I pickup strong draws. For the turn I would have taken the opportunity to check behind and get your free card on the river. Just my two cents fwiw.

If I'm playing this hand I ship it in pre-flop. You probably still get called considering I see the results of the hand and can't figure out what your opponent was thinking, or if they were thinking about anything besides the fact that they received two plastic playing cards.

Anyways… 15 bigs and a limp makes it a shove spot if you want to play. Crap hands like small pairs and baby aces will call you some times on top of real hands calling you and your hand flops very well against those if you don't get all folds.

We increase our stack between 15-20% without showdown if everyone folds and that's never a bad thing.
