Just wanted to say that before u see this i had a really good idea of what he was on at the time and had him on ace high and thought i could push him off a flush draw on the turn with a suss looking bet (also knew i was ahead on the turn), but please be brutally honest about how bad this might have been, i think at the time i was about ninth in chips in the 70k guarantee with about 25 left and should i have won this hand would have been in 2nd. also might have been feeling abit too pro at the time because pulled off a bluff on the previous hand, anyway would be good to know how you guys might have played this.

The hand is played fine, IMO. What if you raise his flop bet? He most likey mucks, n u take down right there. I also like turn bet to make him pay for the draw, just ul result
was thinking about raising the flop bet because it seemed like such a standard c bet but decide 2 just call and then see what his action on the turn was, and when he checks figured i could take it down with a strong looking bet, but was also fairly confident in making a call for my chips
unlucky definately. But I wouuld have raised his flop bet as deep as u are. Likely ur taking it down there. I think not being agressive cost us there. He calls raise then u’ve got to put him on the FD or OESD not to mention AK which we’re a dog too but then atleast we’re playing a little more cautiuosly and maybe can save some chips and still be a force in tourny. I think this deep in tourny we can’t play for stacks with just top pr here. Accumulate the chips gradually as u have through out tourny and play for stacks when u have the NUTTS or a big fav.
It’s just so close to bet the turn or check behind. Once you bet I’m not sure how profitably you can bet/call here since he should be aware that there are certain amount of draws in his range that would have hit the turn.
Against sets and flushes we are dead. So what hands would he check-raise here that we do beat and he is semi-bluffing with? Axh, Kxh are the only real hands I can think of that would justify this play. AK and AA I would most often expect to bet more often then check to induce a bluff and check-raise unless he’s got the Ah. But I’ll include those hands in his check-raise range as well since it would allow us to bet our floats.
Against his check-raise semibluff range (see below) we’ve got 62,69% equity and against his value range (see below) we only have 4,64% equity.
semibluff range:
AhQc,AhQd,AhQs,AhJc,AhJd,AhJs,AhTc,AhTd,AhTs,KcQh,KdQh,KsQh,KcJh,KdJh,KsJh
Value range:
KK+,55-33,AKs,AKo
Villain would need to be (semi) bluffing here 45,55% of the time to make a call neutral EV. So all we have to do know is to estimate how often he would be check-raising here as a semi bluff…
