Villian seemed competent. Table was very active and he'd been limping into a fair few pots trying to stack people with sets etc. Had also floated a few times and took pots on the turn when checked to (although he got check-raised doing this once and snap folded).

I thought check/calling the turn here would look too strong, and leading might induce a bluff with worse diamonds or a shove from a set that got worried about the flush. Leading river was probably a mistake, but I thought he might have the Qd and could try and shove over me (pretty sure he had a Queen here). I wasn't too worried about a house on the river, as I'm pretty sure he would raise a set on the turn with the scary flush card.

Any thoughts on how I could have got more value out of this hand (better bet sizing maybe)?

The only thing I might do slightly differently is to bet bigger on the turn. I think a 1/2 pot cbet on the flop is fine, but I would tend to bet 60% or more on the turn. Wouldn't make a big difference though, maybe you'd get an extra 100 chips off him. I can't see you inducing him to do much here unless he is on a total bluff or on 2pair or better. Qx type hands are going to flat here as there's no reason for him to raise. On the river you could try a small inducing bet but I prefer a bigger value bet. He will just call a small bet with Qx or small flushes, even Jd would probably just call and it doesn't look like he's on a bluff. I think you just ran your monster into a hand that can't call off and probably got near max value.

I think you extracted close to Max.  I would bet 3/4 pot on turn thoguh with 4 diamonds, if he is scared of th eflush he will fold to 1/2 pot bet as much as to a 3/4 pot bet.  something like 986

if he has been aggro youmight try to let him bluff the river or bet smaller on th eriver to give him room to find ahero call or a raise bluff.  if you a bet a bit bigger OTT the pot should be around 3200 and then you  can bet 1200 or so (which by the way assuming he does call turn gives you the same money as betting 623 and then 1579.

this is of course with the benefit of hindsight

I like checking this river or a smaller bet for value/induce.

Check the river and give him a chance to bluff. Looks like he has KQ/QJ therefore only calling your river bet maybe with J of diamonds. Fish always bluff this river as it looks like you are protecting a single pair or overpair by double barreling and giving up river.
