Hi Guys,

As you can see, I have here a stack around 43 bb, I open 66 with a shorty behind me.

(I open 66 cause there are some weak players in the blinds with big stacks)

Okay, the shorty with 9 bb shove on my open.

I calculated that need 33%, cause I put V range on 77+,AQ+ KQs,AJs where I have 34% with my pocket 66, so thats pretty close.

My main question is, should I take these close spots, with my 43bb stack?

If no, should my stack be more big or smaller?

Kind regards

With a small pair like this I will look at stacks behind me b4 opening from early pos an if there is reshove stacks behind what I am not willing to get it in against I will just fold pre in this spot if you think it’s close against villains range just ask yourself if you call an lose you will have 30+bb call an win 50+ Or fold an keep your 40+ which 1 will make the most difference to the way you can play what differences are those bb gonna make to your stack is it worth the risk are your comfy playing with a 30bb if you take a chance an lose does playing a 50bb stack make much difference to playing with 40bb totally down to you

First off, IMO you should be opening 66 >40 bbs from any position with the given stacks at your table. When you do, you should definitely be prepared to call shoves <10 bbs.  That is a tight range you are giving a 9 bb stack in a $2 tournament. The math says it's profitable on that tight of a range so you have your answer. But I think you are giving people too much credit for playing so perfectly in this type of buyin. GL!
